She’s a much better coach than Walz.

Baylor was the defending NC this season, and was on the short list of legit NC contenders the past two seasons. That doesn't strike me as "checked out".

Mmmm. Going home can mean a lot. And she's going home as royalty, because LSU is the state and the state is LSU. Not even 60 but she'll be returning home as a person of importance, and that tiger logo on her shirt will feel like a million dollars every time she puts it on.

LSU just made a significant upgrade. Can't say I like that for Tennessee. It won't manifest immediately but it makes Tennessee's schedule that much harder in time. But I get it for Mulkey. She's been at or near the top of the heap for a long time. It's well earned.

Someone on the Baylor wbb board named all the active head coaches who had either won a NC or been a semi-finalist. I think there were eleven names in total, and the odds of all but one or two moving were about zero. Any bidders for Coach Q?

Here's the Baylor fan's list:

There are only 6 active coaches who have won a Natty: Geno, Tara, Kim, Dawn, Gary Blair and Brenda Frese

There are only 5 other active coaches who have made a title game and lost: C. Vivian Stringer, Jeff Walz, Quinton Hillsman, Vic Schaefer and Adia Barnes (Gail G did, but she's an assistant at CMU now).

And there are only 3 other active head coaches who have even made a Final Four: Kelly Graves, Scott Rueck and Mike Neighbors.

So there's your list of elite coaches.

Wow. That is pretty jarring. I didn't think she would ever leave Baylor. Great hire for LSU... and they must feel really deflated in Waco. It is unusual to see this kind of lateral move these days.

Walz isn’t leaving Louisville. He will use Baylor to get another raise though. He will lead them on and then say he is happy at Louisville and Baylor will have wasted their time.

As I said, I wouldn’t even entertain him.

Not coaching wise. I’m saying with the university. There’s been a rift growing ever since they made Mulkey apologize surrounding that sexual assault statement.

Welcome coach Mulkey...The SEC just got more POTENT!!...With the new xfer rule, it would not surprise me if a lot of Baylor's top players travel with her...They will be able to play immediately...Note to them...This is the SEC not Big 12...We suit up every night [NO CUPCAKES]...better start running more or hit the treadmill for endurance work...GO LVFL 🧡🏀🧡

Hope everyone enjoyed that third place SEC finish this season. That's the ceiling for the program now...
