If they weren't called STUDENT athletes I'd agree. But I think a lot of people are forgetting they are students first and athletes second. So I guess little league football kids ought to be paid too right? I mean they are entertainers and that league does bring money in...They are entertainers, so yeah college football is a job that they should be allowed to get paid for. Colleges make millions off of them. It baffles me that people are really upset that players get paid. Sounds mostly like jealously to me.
Lol most of those leagues can barely pay the refs.If they weren't called STUDENT athletes I'd agree. But I think a lot of people are forgetting they are students first and athletes second. So I guess little league football kids ought to be paid too right? I mean they are entertainers and that league does bring money in...
Yet they still bring money in and those kids should be paid right? After all it's a business I thought?
I think as long as you're a student you shouldn't be getting paid to play sports that's only a newer mindset. Free college, free room and board, free food, money from the school, benefits from sponsors etc... should be enough if it's not then you pay your tuition while you getting paid.Maybe it's different where you live but little league football cost over $100 just to signup. Cost parents $5-10 to get into the games (to pay the refs), and then the league practically begs businesses around town to sponsor teams to help pay for equipment for teams, and help maintain the fields. These leagues aren't bringing in profits so I don't understand your argument? Maybe if they're making a profit, then yeah paying the players cleats/equipment, waiving league fees, etc. I would be for that. I think you have a silly argument.
