Kirkland Jr. out

This is such trash man.. I'm so pissed.. now we have to watch jumper.. he's awful imo idk how he's on the team

He played well vs Florida. Our LB corps as a unit must step up. They were atrocious from the Texas A&M game on last season - all of them - not just Jumper... That's probably being kind.

Yeah, it's weird how well played against Fla. Then looked like AJ Johnson with his lack of speed and bad angles later on.

Yea, let's trash our players. I'm sure that'll make everything better. You don't know what's going on yet here you are whining like a little child. Jumper has progressed in games and it's not fair to the kid that he gives it all for Tennessee despite not being the most talented, and still gets bashed by our fans.

"Rehabilitation time for a meniscus repair is about 3 months. A meniscectomy requires less time for healing — approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Meniscus tears are extremely common knee injuries. With proper diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, patients often return to their pre-injury abilities."

I'm no doctor, but I hope it's the 2nd option.

Candace Parker came back a lot quicker than that.

Everyone relax. DKJr is a fantastic player, but one player doesn't make a team, or even a defense.

He shouldn't be playing significant minutes at UT.

Jumper had an "ah ha" moment vs. UF. I'll give the ginger pumpers that one. And only that one. The dude is NOT a top tier LB meant to be starting MLB for an entire SEC slate. If you think he is well then you need to seek medical help.

The USPS is faster than Jumper

Plus, there is no telling how many times he got beat or made a bad read on defense

I give him that he tries his best and he gives his all, but sometimes it takes more than just heart to get it done

He's a good football player. With another year under his belt he should be a great football player, no? Why hate? He too white for you all?

Yeah I went there. Same dumb arguments. He slow, he not athletic. Stereotype much? He starts for a reason. He's a good player. Enough with the hate.

1) We are NOT the coaches @ THE University of Tennessee
Really?
2) Let the Coaches @ THE University of Tennessee do there job and we put our full trust in them
No. Jones has not earned "full trust" and especially when it comes to keeping a team healthy. He's done better this year. But he's had issues for the last 3 years and just this past year figured out that Lawson wasn't an SEC quality S&C coach. Again, TRUST is earned... not given.

3) I would take a more disciplined overall athlete than someone with only rare athleticism
That's nice on a get well card but if you want to win...you better have BOTH.
4) We don't need to give up huge momentum plays the entire game because someone overran a play due to NOT being disciplined and using only there rare athleticism
Nor do we need to have a guy know what to do and either be unable to get off blocks or else unable to tackle the opposing back due to a lack of athleticism.
5) A disciplined athlete can also contribute to making sure everyone else is lined up correctly
Well, yeah! You still have to beat blocks and make tackles.
6) A disciplined athlete can use there instincts to make sure they are in the right position and not getting burned
See.... above.
7) I will take disciplined experience over someone with only athleticism unless we have a cupcake game or a game that is well past in control
Unfortunately... you lose with either.

Why am I typing all of this? NegaVols don't care because they listen to the media all of the time and don't know the difference between X's/O's.

Come on down COLTON JUMPER!!

Ah, so someone must be a "nega" to want to win? To understand the kind of athletes it takes to win?

For me, it's not an excuse to lose games. Bottom line.

Now, if injuries start piling up all over the defense, or if injuries pile up at one position ( like DT last year ), I give the staff some slack. Neither of these has happened yet, so you gotta win. Bottom line.

Why would you give them slack if they fail (again) to develop players and manage their health?

This guy?

It blows my mind as to how ignorant some of you are. Still bringing up Butch and strength and conditioning. Josh Smith fell down after coming down with a ball, let's blame Butch. Kirkland had a freaking NON CONTACT injury, blame Butch for practicing them too hard. Wht part of NON CONTACT do some of you not understand?

If Jones didn't have a 3 year history of higher than normal injuries... then the criticism wouldn't have merit. He has though.

Whoever blames Butch for our players getting hurt in practice is just ignorant.

I don't care if Chip Kelly, Saban, Meyer, or whoever was our coach, injuries would most likely happen. It's freaking football for lords sake, not a chess match.

but...those great coaches plug in the next baller who is coached up and can compete in SEC. We will see if his cruits are ballers and coached up

Skin color has nothing to do with it. There are lots of white MLB's that can get everyone lined up and still have the talent to shed blockers and take on P-5 RB's.

I'd take a Scott Galyon....not sure if spelling is correct

That was the one player that we didn't need injured again. I guess we could say DT too. Our LB is not SEC quality level without him. Jumper hustles but would not a starting SEC LB at any school.

The HC is ultimately responsible for managing practices and managing the health of his players.

Injuries do happen. So far IMO, UT's don't look abnormally high. Smith fell awkward and Hall apparently re-aggravated an old injury.

HOWEVER, the HC IS responsible for controlling the factors that contribute to these injuries. Jones has worked to improve it. If you were correct... why would he do that?
