please not jumper, he is just slow
Can someone show a side by side comparison of stats for Kirkland and Jumper for their careers? They are both juniors, so it shouldn't be that hard. I think Jumper has played more, but not sure. Kirkland has always been, potentially, an all world MLB, but hampered by nagging injuries since his freshman year. I want him to be Al Wilson, like everyone else, but have never seen it.
I do wish the fanbase was objective, rather than emotional. With decent D-Line play (quick penetration), Jumper should be a good fit against G Tech. This is a classic assignment and responsibilities match-up. Beyond this, the UT Offense will still put up more points.
Someone in the program needs to be looking at the equipment, practice drills, and field. There are way too many injuries to be " normal" something is wrong systemically. Cleats gripping too much? Is there some properties about the practice field creating an issue? Are we doing drills without proper warn up? Are there specific drills that are repeditively causing the injuries? Something beyond Murphy's law is at play.

I believe in our team, but this game has me scared to death with how porous our run defense was last season. And now to lose one of our best LBs and tacklers really hurts. I think Jumper played fine last season, but as others have mentioned he is slow. Jumper always seems to be a few yards back on the play, unable to get off blocks, and not very disruptive or in the backflield often. However, he plays with a lot of heart and toughness. We just need somebody who takes great attack angles, can shed blocks, and can be in GT's backfield to disrupt their offense. If we cannot stop the run then it will be a long night. Hopefully our defense has taken a huge step forward, they could not have gotten any worse.

Yea, let's trash our players. I'm sure that'll make everything better. You don't know what's going on yet here you are whining like a little child. Jumper has progressed in games and it's not fair to the kid that he gives it all for Tennessee despite not being the most talented, and still gets bashed by our fans.
