Kirkland Jr. out

Yeah, kinda crazy. I remember seeing these kind of overreactions in middle school and prepubescent days but it's always weird to witness adults carry on as some do.

Yea, I was gonna straighten this isht out, but I see Freak is on it, I'll let him handle it.

:)

Very good for him just think we should have better options. Hopefully he does well.

I hope so too, for Tennessee's sake.

That whole depth chart is weird. I just looked at linebackers for the first time and Dillon Bates is the backup at middle linebacker at Bituli is listed as the backup at SAM.

Considering the uniqueness of Georgia Tech's scheme, there's really no telling who we might see out there.

Agree. As long as we win I'm cool.

As hush as Butch is about injuries, I wonder how healthy Bituli is?

I remember both he and Kirkland were very limited when camp started.

I'd love to see Dillon Bates make an impact this year, though.

Yep, Freak been on a few things lately. I was bugging him not long ago about needing to post more lately. Can't realistically take credit for his re-emergence but screw it, I'm going to anyway. :)

Ha, good to see you, charger. I always get overly excited this time of year.

I'm one of those fans who is pretty realistic about our team during the offseason, but once August rolls around, I automatically add two more wins to my season prediction. lol.

Yeah, several little comments about Bituli's status. Heard it suggested enough I figure it definitely plays a role.

I hope Bates shakes the injury bug and has a great rest of his career.

Great to see you around more.. we're always undefeated until we're not. I'll worry about that then, life's too short to pre worry.

I stick to realistic and add about 1-2 losses to whatever the sunshine pumpers project. Think 8-4 is probably our ceiling (and yes, I know what "ceiling" means). 9-3 IF things go our way for the entire season, which they won't. Won't be shocked if we go 7-5 or 6-6. 6-6 or better and Butch will remain with a new AD.

I would guess if you take all the projections into account, 8 wins is probably the over/under. Maybe 7.5.

Having a hard time with predictions this year. UGA,LSU and UF are all as big of unknowns as we are. So many new/fairly new coaches and talent. Just a big shot in the dark.

One player didnt have to be suspended, he is out with injury.

Richmond is suspended for Tech. So are your saying Kirkland was going to be suspended??? Well they were saying Mac too but that wasn't the case, and I will not even guess on Kirkland. I personally don't believe Kirkland was going to be suspended, and at this point it is moot anyway. GBO!!!!!

At this point all the predictions don't mean squat. It will be decided on the field. GBO!!!!!

Where did you hear that?

LWSVOL posted yesterday that they found his knee was in worse shape once they went in. Said he was done for the year and would take a RS.

I don't think it's been confirmed by the team yet as the last I heard Butch just said "he's being further evaluated".

Why is it hard for people to admit that Butch Jones has had a history of poor personnel decisions. Hell it goes back to 2015 when he played Colton Jumper over DKjr against Oklahoma.

Since you're still questioning and demanding, here are some thoughts as to the possibility DKjr wasn't ready for Oklahoma --

March 8 2015

"The Indianapolis-born linebacker tore a pectoral muscle in winter (2014-15 winter) workouts. ... But will they be hampered by missing time, and will it affect their roles on the 2015 Vols? The injuries could hurt them (dkjr) and the team."

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2399845-tennessee-football-how-injuries-will-impact-vols-spring

And then later in the season (Nov 20), here's still more reports of his injury:

"Early in the year, UT's defense suffered drastically when Kirkland wasn't ready and walk-on Colton Jumper was forced into a starting role. When Kirkland finally took over against Western Carolina, he wasn't ready. But as he's grown, so has coordinator John Jancek's defense."

"So, playing slogging offenses with strong running games means UT needs a big effort from Kirkland."

Do you see any possible pattern, of Jumper being "forced" to play in 2015, and maybe 2016? Is DKjr healthy/available to play now?

Did DKjr play in the 2016 Vanderbilt game?
