Hate to say it, but it’s most likely his age that kept him out of a lottery pick. You gotta look at it financially too.

Doubt it’s age seeing as Edey went top 10. It’s very odd. He’ll get the last laugh, though, and make some of the NBA execs feel like the novices they are.

I just hate it for DK. I’m sure this will only fuel him more, but this still probably hurts and makes him question why players clearly worse than him that played in college are viewed so differently. Still, I suspect he’ll just be even hungrier to be a stud now.

Along the same lines, I really thought Barnes coaching a guy from Northern Colorado to a top 5-10 pick in the NBA draft would really help Tennessee's recruiting pitch. WHELP SO MUCH FOR THAT IDEA.

These kind of decisions are why the NBA is a lesser product than it was. It's why teams from the 80s, 90s etc would absolutely destroy today's NBA. Men used to play the game. Now kids play it. Kids who come from AAU culture, who don't know how to play basketball. It's why the NBA is becoming European dominant.

Eh. DK is still a massive success. He wasn’t even on first round mocks last year when he entered the portal. The only thing holding him back is his age and there is nothing Barnes can do to control that.

Yep. Same thing with Hendon Hooker. People act like getting 10 years potentially out of a pro is bad these days. I mean, if you get a decade of DK playing great basketball how is that a bad thing? I don’t think these dumb executives realize how long a decade truly is.
