Just saw where people are saying on twitter that he has a high ankle fracture and most likely out for the season. Hate that for him. Dude's a beast.

Rb @ AR and supposedly a good chunk of their offense. Sucks for the guy.

I'm a horrible person for what I felt when I first read the OP...That really REALLY hurts Arkansas. Praying for the young man. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Yeah, I understand from an extremely competitive standpoint that this is "good" news for their opponents...*ahem* but I refuse to allow myself to be excitable by this. Dude was the best back in the SEC without the recognition for it.

I do now but first a second there, I was like YES!!! This game just became a lot more winnable...then I felt like an a$$hole...

Sucks for Arkansas. He is a great player and fun to watch. This definitely helps move the Arkansas game to the winnable category for the Vols.

Maybe so but Arkansas is loaded at RB not to mention a excellent QB and great receivers. Losing Davis will be an adjustment for them but that's all.

They aren't loaded with running backs like him. He is probably third best in the SEC.

Wingo isn't as good as Davis, but he's been solid. Whether he can take the pounding of full time RB remains to be seen.

Your right about that I think Davis would have had a huge year. I do think Wingo given the carries will do just fine though. He averaged over 6 yards per carry last year and was recently timed at 4.27 which is slightly faster then Davis. As far as durability with Wingo who knows but he's up to 231 so about the same as Davis. Dennis Johnson has alot of potential also and should get his share of carries. With Petrinos scheme and their receivers losing Davis won't hurt as much as some think. jmo of course

You always want to face a team when you're both at full strength. I hope for his sake that Davis can resume his career in 2012 where he left it off.

FWIW, there's been no confirmation on the extent of the injury. There have been many rumors out there tonight like these:

- Not a significant injury, a sprain
- Broken Fibula bone, and had surgery tonight, out for season
- Broken ankle, out 6-8 weeks
- Also out there are rumors of a possibly career-ending injury, which is of course, worst case scenario

What I've heard is that there has not been a diagnosis, and they're waiting for swelling to subside. This is from 11PM tonight. It sounded really bad, people at practice said he had a haunting scream when the injury happened. Players and Assistant coaches are not allowed to talk about it, so we don't have anything.

I would hate it for Knile though. He's been through alot. Broke his left ankle in HS, and Broke his right ankle his freshman season, and to top it off he lost his father to cancer in Freshman season.

Wingo is that fast carrying that much weight? The drop off may be less than I thought. You really dampened my optimism.

They also have an unproven QB who's played in one game....I am still trying to figure out where the "awesome" QB is coming from...now I know he came in for Ryan Mallet when he got hurt in the Auburn game, but honestly, Alabama threw all over Auburn's defense as well, until the defensive line start getting pressure up the middle, but the receivers were burning all of the defensive backs.

I am sorry this happened to their RB, but I see Arkansas as winnable, because quite frankly, they have an unproven QB. Tyler Bray has better stats then Wilson, and Bray is a true sophomore.

Just wondering where the OP found anything about a broken ankle??? ESPN reports that he was carted off the field,,,has Petrino made a statement? Either way,,,hope his injury isn't that bad. We may be opponents on the field, rivalries on game day, but after all, how would we all feel if we found out that Tauren broke an ankle??? These kids give their all for the game,,,if the news is true that he did break his ankle,,,it would be nice if a few of us hit up the Hogs forum and wish them the best - with sincerity.
