Knile Davis Injury-likely out for season

Sorry, but Arkansas game not winable even with Davis out - too much firepower at the skill positions for them. By November, our lack of defensive depth will start to show up and we will be a tired, undermaned defense trying to defend the best offense in the SEC on the road. Let's be realistic, shall we? Ark 41, UT 17.

Wow, what a huge blow for Arkansas. Hopefully Knile can get back before the end of the season. He's a great talent.

fade route is a good name for you. Call CDD and let him know there's really no reason to even make the trip.

The injury was a compound fracture so I doubt he'll be able to play at all this season. Terrible blow for ARK and their fans, but more so for a promising RB. This definitely increases our chances of upsetting them though. The backup RBs are good, but they are freshmen. Arkansas's defense is questionable at best, especially in the secondary. I think this will be a much closer game than most anticipate.

Don't get me wrong - I hope they can pull an upset in Fayettevile. In fact, I predict my vols only lose 4 games this year, w/ 9 wins counting a bowl win. But, Arky will be extremely tough. I think they will also loose to Bama, LSU, and SC, but UGA and UF are wins, mainly because we ge tthem early in the schedule. Excited about the direction of the program, but has to be evaluated with a dose of reality, that was my only point. Layta

I also think we lose this one but it wouldn't have been 41-17 and it certainly won't now. Knile was the only one that could've exploited our position mismatches. Now they are fairly one dimensional with only a passing attack and that is the strength of our defense. This game just became a lot more winnable.

Good point on the position matchups now that Davis is out, but they have good backs behind Davis in Dennis Johnson and Ronnie Wingo - once the season gets underway, I can be swayed on this one depending on how each team evolves throughout the year, but I still think the hogs take it.
