Knoxville is not Miami, and Columbus is not Green Bay

Yup. Central Ohio weather and East TN weather generally follow the same pattern. OH is typically 10 degrees or so cooler, often less. Wind chill can exacerbate the difference, but if Heup has them practicing early in the morning, that’ll more than make up for it.

Plus, a classic cold-weather defensive struggle where both teams lean on the run plays to our strengths more than theirs.

Forecasted low on 12/21:
Columbus, OH = 26
Knoxville, TN = 29
Cold weather will NOT be a deciding factor in this game!

Ohio weather benefits the running game. An Ohio State fan broke down their offense late in the season and showed that they are very average at home late in the year because the often windy conditions impact their pass happy offense and that the shoe was not an advantage. Guess well see

In fairness, our players probably do play fewer cold weather games than Ohio State. Not like we are traveling to Minnesota every other year in November.

I think a good point was made during the selection show and that is that playing at home may actually work against Ohio State. The fans are frustrated from losing to Michigan and there is alot of pressure on their offense to perform. A three and out to start out and it could cause the fans to start booing.

It’s never, ever, not better to be playing a home game.

I generally agree with this sentiment, but Cole Cubelic made a comment that he always played with a chip on his shoulder at away games. Harder to relax when you’re playing away from home. But I’d still rather us play in Neyland.
