Knoxville is not Miami, and Columbus is not Green Bay

Indeed. Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Maine? That’s cold. That’s rough. Ohio?!!! Pshhhh….whatever. It’s basically Kentucky. I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve sat in some COLD games in Lexington and the Vols handled it just fine. Only a five hour drive, too.

Ohio weather benefits the running game. An Ohio State fan broke down their offense late in the season and showed that they are very average at home late in the year because the often windy conditions impact their pass happy offense and that the shoe was not an advantage. Guess well see
I like Nico’s arm strength over anyone’s in windy conditions. I hope our receivers hands are sure.

We’ve played in cold weather in Columbia, Missouri. Game time temp was 28 degrees in 2015. Currently the weather app says Columbus will be a low of 26 degrees that night while Knoxville will be a low of 31 degrees. Either way it was going to be cold. I think people are making way too much about the weather than needs to be. It won’t be much of a factor. Whoever executes better will win.

Will the tickets be split 50/50 between schools like bowl or previous playoff games or is this just a straight up full home game for Ohio St?

January 1 Average Temps for Columbus: High 36 Low 20 Snowfall average for January is 9.5"

January hasn't been snowy in Columbus in several years. In fact outside of rare weather events, Columbus is practically a black hole for snow because of the Urban Heat Island effect (Columbus is a densely populated city of more than 1 million people).

The weather isn't very different than it is in Knoxville.

Yup. Central Ohio weather and East TN weather generally follow the same pattern. OH is typically 10 degrees or so cooler, often less. Wind chill can exacerbate the difference, but if Heup has them practicing early in the morning, that’ll more than make up for it.

Plus, a classic cold-weather defensive struggle where both teams lean on the run plays to our strengths more than theirs.
any chance you know the last time Bucks played at night in December?

I think it’s probably safe to assume OSUs roster is more acclimated to cold weather football than we are based on roster composition alone. That said, unless it’s 20 degrees with freezing rain we should be able to handle it.

And cold weather plays right into our hands. Strong defense and strong run game. Will Howard is not a very good QB. He has thrown an interception in 7 games this season as a 5th year player. For comparison, Nico has only thrown a pick in 4 games in his first season.

Columbus may not be Green Bay, but you can easily get a big snowstorm this time of year in Columbus.

People already coming up with 2 excuses in the event we lose,

Gonna be nice beating them on their own field
I rather be a player on the field playing or sideline with heaters than the fan in the stands
I'm more worried about the band and if they'll be up to constantly playing Rocky Top in the cold

First, im from.east Tennessee and went to college in Columbus. It gets a little colder, and the wind is worse (it's flat af there). The biggest difference is that it stays colder longer (months) than here. In September we are usually still mostly in shorts here, and there you are probably not and by late Feb/March here we have some pretty nice days mixed with in with our garbage weather, and they are still hanging cold weather gear up the doors

But in general, there isn't a terribly large difference except they do get a lot more snow than we do (except obviously our higher mountains) in Knoxville .

Ftr I live east of Chattanooga near the NC and Georgia border but my family is from Telico area

Columbus is only about 120 miles north of Lexington.
