Hey guys. Give this a watch when you get the time. We're all extremely lucky to be born in America and essentially shape our own futures to some extent. This is a chance to help those less fortunate.

Thanks. Spread the word.

Invisible Children | Kony2012

Please visit this site and watch this movie. It's only about 30 minutes. In case you don't know, Joseph Kony is the leader of the L.R.A. in Uganda, and for most of his war career, he was unknown. This group, called Invisible Children, is trying to stop him and bring awareness to his crimes.

There is also a facebook group they have by the same name

Here is their website: Invisible Children | causes.com

Warning: There have been claims that not all the money goes to the effort, and a lot of their money is for their own use of film production, travel, etc. so I would be careful about sending money. However, I do encourage you to read up on Joseph Kony and not just him, but the horrors in Africa.

I can't find the link at the moment, but I read an article earlier cautioning people re: donating to this particular charity. Something about only 30% of the money actually goes to rescuing kids, teaching villagers how to save money, etc. while the rest goes to arming the ugandan military.

I did a little more digging, and you are right, I would be careful about sending money.

However, I do think it's important to raise awareness of what is going on not just in Uganda but in a lot of Africa.

I don't send money to charity. Quite simply because of this. Just because you never know where it goes.

Not to be that guy but the LRA has been operating since the late 80s but only now are people starting to care....

Exactly. A video goes viral and now everyone seems to think that donating to this organization actually helps.

I know.

And it shouldn't have been that way.

But we can only focus on the future and learn from it.

This video or that organization aren't going to do jack about Kony. If he is captured or killed, then someone else will step in his place.

Great cause, I hope the MFer is captured and killed. However, did anyone notice the #2 criminal on that list? It was Vincent Otti, located in Uganda. So once Kony gets taken out at #1, now you have to go after his entire operation.

What really burns me is that kids around my age seem to think they are saving the world by posting it. I guess its now trendy to take up a cause.

Quit it with this stuff. Do research on the organization. Realize that only about 20% of donations goes to helping children. The rest goes to arming the Ugandan military and "administrative costs."
