Expect him to be booed out of Manhattan, KS next year. He left them and said that its impossible to win there.

Tennessee got a good coach guys. Name me a current SEC men's coach that was at a BCS school, before coming to their current school?

It's not that Martin is a bad hire - I personally think he'll do very well here. But OU, who in all honesty isn't that much better of a basketball school than we are, went out and got a proven commodity. Meanwhile, UT has hired a 17-20 coach from the WAC and an up-and-comer who does have a lot of potential, but hasn't reached it yet. Our approach may end up working in both cases, but why we didn't go after someone more proven for $2M or more is beyond me.

I have on numerous occasions defended MH in previous years. But I stand corrected on all accounts. I think the one thing that we miss from the Dickey era is his PR decisions. Some of MH's decisions have made UT be viewed in a negatively by everyone, fans, media, other coaches. UT should be a more attractive job than what is appears to be. but the fact that our AD gets no respect from anyone completly negates his credibility, and his ability to run a program.

Not sure if you all heard Clay Travis' comments yesterday with Wild Will. But UT has a athletics budgets around 40mil greater than Arkansas, and they go out and get Petrino in FB for 3.56mil/yr, maybe the mercernary hire but still a proven commodity, and Mike Anderson for 2.2mil/yr, another proven commidity. And yet we Get DD for 1.8mil/yr, and Martin for 1.3mil/yr. but yet our athletic budget is over 100mil/yr, and AR has a budget of around 60mil/yr. Whats wrong with this picture?

Kruger has proven himself in BCS leagues before, though.

I don't think anybody will mistake Coach Cal for a midmajor coach.

Coach Cal was at Memphis and UMass both mid majors, But yes UK can go out and get a BCS coach.

Hamilton goes the mid major route. Pearl, Dooley and Martin. He offered Mack 2 M but he said no. I heard Wes Rucker say that Hammy like to spent money on facilities rather than coaches. He disagreed with that idea. Me too!

Martin, I like the guy, and hope he can win here. but he doen's have the record Kruger does.

Well, obviously. Martin's been a head coach for 3 years; Kruger's been a head coach for 30 years. Kruger would have been a guy that we all would have felt confident that he would win. However, Kruger's almost 60; so, there's at least a question of how many years we would get out of him. The difference between him and Martin is that we know Kruger would have won here, and we're just hoping Martin will.

I thought Clay Travis was spot on in the radio interview too. In fact, his sentiment appears to be like mine. Makes you think, who did the better job? Arkansas has hired Petrino and Anderson, we hired Dooley and Martin. Dooley and Martin may turn out to be great hires, but the odds are that Arkansas is in a better position.

This is not against coach Martin, but I wonder why we pay a search firm $50-75K every time we need a head coach and always end up hiring someone from North Dakota State Teachers College. Its like MH has no intention of hiring any of the top recommendations to begin with.

It's time to face it. Our AD is GARBAGE except for fundraising.
