A pity UK fans, and perhaps some of our Vols fans as well, can't give credit where it's due. First off, I'm tempted to say we didn't play a football game. It looked more like flag-ball. Least the refs threw them at both teams this time.
Take 1: We beat a depleted team playing a significant number of their backups.
Take 2: Said team didn't come to Neyland to hear whispers of UT playoff chances. They came to hear UT scream, "Oh sheet!"
Take 3: The patchwork Wildcats played like warriors born against a superior enemy, but were predictably defeated.
We left 23 points on the field with dropped TD passes and missed FGs, but still, hats off in respects to the feline fellows who manned the gate with courage and spirit. They were out manned, outgunned, and far from home. But what impressed me more, dignified in defeat. They lingered a bit on field and amicably congratulated and held brief chats with our guys. This was college football, the way it was meant to be.
