Please point me to the part in the rule book about it being a requirement to fight anybody who you may have had an altercation with.
In a statement released Monday, Childress said, "First of all, I'm responsible for my actions, plain and simple. As you know, I am a very principled person and have a passion for what we do at Richard Childress Racing. I believe passionately in defending my race teams and my sponsor partners. In this instance, I let that passion and my emotions get the best of me. I accept the penalty NASCAR announced today and, as a company, we will now focus on this week's races at Pocono Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway."
You don't have to physically fight anyone you have a run in with, but to shove a car out of your way then have NASCAR force you to be in the same room as the person who has an issue with you doesn't really do anything for your image. When I say "fought his own battles" I didn't mean a literal fist fight. I meant that Dale Earnhardt would confront you face to face after an on track run in. Mike Helton and Bill France didn't have to find him in his motorhome.
Childress fined $150K, on probation until Dec. 31 - Jun 06, 2011 - NASCAR.COM
Seems pretty run of the mill as far as NASCAR penalties go for altercations. Take some money and and watch him closely (not that RC is a hot head, so he should be fine).
NASCAR forces everybody to confront their issues in the hauler. What does that say about the image of everybody who been called there?
For what it's worth, McReynolds sided with Childress and Harvck in both deals. If we're going to say that DW is a credible person then I guess McReynolds is considered one, too.
Links to said hit lists?
I'll wait.
You want the names of drivers that has or have had Busch on their hit list? Ok. And by "hit list" I didn't mean a literal hit list. Apparently you don't understand metaphors or figures of speech. I doubt drivers sit down and write out a physical list of drivers they want to get even with, and even if they did, I doubt they would Tweet it so I could link it for you.
Off the top of my head:
Kevin Harvick
Carl Edwards
Denny Hamlin
Dale Jr.
Jeff Burton
Steve Wallace
Brad Keselowski
Todd Bodine
Greg Biffle
Ron Hornaday
Jennifer Jo Cobb
Brian Vickers
A detailed list of every person he has had some sort of public issue or incident with would go on a while. But all of these men and the many others, when hearing of the Childress incident, probably went back in time to their run-in with Busch and said to themselves "Way to go, Richard!", even if their spat with Busch had all but been forgotten. I should probably make a list of drivers Busch hasn't had disputes with. It would be alot shorter.
Good addition. It's still nowhere near the correct number of people though. And that's just a list of different drivers, not including the number of times Busch has had issues with the same driver more than once.
Depends on how they handle it before going to the truck. If you shove an empty car out of your way so you can go hide until Mike Helton comes to find you and take you to the trailer, then you look like a coward. If you get out of the car and try to confront the guy face to face then at least you show you don't want/need the help of the sanctioning body every time you piss someone off. I'd much rather see Kyle Busch settle disputes on his own than have NASCAR be the only deciding factor in all of the pissing matches he starts. It's like the kid in the neighborhood who acts tough, but runs to mommy and daddy when someone finally calls him on it.
From some of the blogs who claim to have seen the fight, I've read that both PeeWee's eyes were black; one reported he even asked if he could bring his wife to the meeting.
BTW Broyles, my antivirus software has blocked two malware attempts while I was reading this thread. Someone really likes the baby-man.
what requirement was he under to get out of his car?
seems like his issue with Harvick dated back to Homestead when Harvick did the same thing to him. i would assume that spinning him out at Darlington settled it from there. if Harvick wants to attempt to escalate it from there, that's his problem, not Kyle's.
Harvick wasn't trying to escalate anything. Fox showed replays of him giving Kyle the slightest of bumps late in a race to try and get around, only to be turned into oncoming traffic half a lap later. I think the battle for position was a bit more important than some issue from 7 months earlier. If they were going to settle the Homestead issue, they could have gone at it at Bristol or Martinsville. Even better, Kyle Busch could have found Harvick AT HOMESTEAD and settled it after the race AT HOMESTEAD. If Kyle was really that upset with Harvick after Homestead or Darlington, then he shouldn't have had any problem facing him, right? Your guy isn't the "wild thing" the media makes him out to be. He doesn't have to fight everyone on the circuit, but no "wild thing" gets tracked down and whipped by a 65 year old car owner because he can't simply resolve an issue face to face with a driver. How hard is it to understand that this thread only exists because Kyle Busch can't take responsibility for his own actions and has to use Mike Helton, Brian France and Joe Gibbs to finish what he starts?
so you've personally verified with all those drivers that Kyle Busch is on their "hit list"?
