Kyle Busch is at it again.......

I think Kyle likes being "The Villain." I dont think he is trying to get into Jr.'s head, I think he just likes reminding Rick Hendrick and everybody else in NASCAR that Hendrick let him go and hired Jr.

I agree with this also and Hendrick should remind Rowdy that he has won the last 3 championships (without his services) plus he makes more money off Dale Jr. on merchandise with him missing the chase than he would off Kyle winning 10 times a year.

Kyle has had more than his share of bad luck. Lost today due to a flat after a caution that wiped out a big lead. Had another flat cost him a race, and had the lead at two rain shortened races, lost when other drivers stayed out instead of pitting.

Kyle had terrible luck today in both races. He dominated both and had nothing at all even close to show for it.

I saw that. Wasn't sure what to think of it. I thought it was funny but not sure if one should do that was a trophy.

Douche move IMO. That is a special trophy. Who smashes a trophy? What would that look like if he smashed a trophy at another track? His excuse is he wanted to give pieces of the trophy to his crew? That excuse applies at any track. Why this one?

I already disliked the guy, but this put me over the edge. One of the most unique trophies in racing, takes hours to paint by Sam Bass, and he smashes it on TV.

you being the astounding artist you are Sab should know the importance in getting names right. Sam Ash died in the '50s, leaving only his music stores behind. Sam Bass painted the guitar Busch smashed and was taking pictures with Busch afterward, and is quoted as saying something along the lines of "in the spirit of rock n roll as someone who loves rock n roll, Busch put on a show". Get a clue. He's just having a good time. Heaven forbid someone do something exciting in auto racing.

also a guitar is far less unique than a grandfather clock, a carved bear, championship belt (a la boxing) or that shotgun they at least used to give away in Texas.

Ha ha. Name mixup. It happens. Sam Bass is always in victory lane at Nashville and always takes pictures with the winner, so I don't see your point there. He was polite in the interview, but he did say he was "stunned" when it happened. Exciting or not, it was disrespectful.

Very telling that you choose to attack those that differ in opinion with you I feel compelled to say. "Get a clue"? Really? Are you 12?

if the guy that designed said he didn't have a problem, why should anyone else? Rockers shatter guitars all the time. Jeff Jarrett made a living doing it, so did the Honky Tonk Man. Would you rather him just store it in a useless shed somewhere or make something exciting out of it. It created even more buzz for NASCAR, a sport that is going downhill fast. Props to him. Calling him a douchebag for having fun is more in line for a 68 year old. Are you 68?

What? Are you for real? That isn't just any guitar. It's every bit as unique as any other trophy in motorsports. What a ridiculous thing to say.

This marks the 29th such trophy the artist has created for the 1.333-mile Tennessee track, continuing a tradition that began when Jack Sprague carried home the first one in June of 2002. In the years since, the list of drivers who have earned the most sought-after musical instrument in motorsports has grown to include: Carl Edwards, Dario Franchitti, Clint Bowyer, Scott Dixon, Kevin Harvick, Tony Kanaan, and Travis Kvapil, to name just a few.

This truly one-of-a-kind trophy has come to symbolize racing in Music City.
In fact, Sports Illustrated described it as one of the Top 10 coolest trophies in all of sports. This year’s design is perhaps the most dynamic yet.

"The Sam Bass designed Gibson Les Paul Trophy Guitar is the trademark of the Nashville Superspeedway," says the track’s Director of Public Relations, Sean Dozier. "The guitar is instantly recognized around the country as one of the most coveted trophies in NASCAR."

oooh, good call there. I'm sure Nashville Speedway is going to downplay their trophy. Great quote there.

He didn't say that he didn't have a problem with it. He said he was stunned and then politely finished the interview. If he were to cause a stink right there when being interviewed, it would have sunk him right down to Kyle's level.

And I never called him a douchebag. Don't misquote me to try and make a point. I said it was a douche move and it was.

so I don't see your point there

maybe if you look further it will help you...

"it's called reading. Top to bottom, left to right. Group words together as a sentence. Take Tylenol for any headaches, Midol for any cramps."

yes, douche move and douchebag are so completely different. How could I put two and two together like that. My mistake.

Would you like me to pull up some other quotes about the trophy from drivers?

GLADEVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville Superspeedway works the Music City angle whenever possible, and that goes all the way down to the trophy. Everyone who races there and wins takes home a Gibson guitar designed by Sam Bass.

Helio Castroneves, who will start on the pole Saturday night for the Firestone Indy 200, wants to add one to his collection. It hasn't been easy seeing the guitar won by former Penske teammate Gil de Ferran in 2003.

"I know I can drive a car. I know I can dance. I don't think I can play guitar. I don't care. I'll learn maybe if I can win this," Castroneves said.

Castroneves will have a good chance at winning a guitar because he will start from the pole on a track where passing is difficult.

"The only thing I can promise is I'm going to do my best, my team's going to do their best," he said.

Not if Danica Patrick has anything to say about it. She will start beside Castroneves on the front row, and the woman who made history by winning in Japan wants nothing more than to add a second trophy to her display case. And yes, a guitar would be special.

"It's more of a unique thing to display, as well, you know," Patrick said. "I'd like to think I'd get a cool case for something like that. 'Do you know a rock star? No, I won at Nashville.' Yeah, it's cool to have different kinds of trophies to have around."

“When I saw that guitar in the driver’s meeting, I knew I wanted it real bad,” said racing legend Jack Sprague, who won the trophy at Nashville Superspeedway in 2002. “We can only guess how many strummed a few bars of ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ in the victory lane,” writes Pete McEntegart of SI.com.

You downplaying the uniqueness of this trophy is just making you look bad.

Seems you're the one struggling with the reading bit.

Not sure how you can read that any other way. It totally negates your point of him being in victory lane with the winner.

Do you always kick and scream when you are losing or is just an internet thing for you?

yeah, he politely finished the interview with this line:

"I'll be honest with you, I was stunned when it happened," Bass said. "But when I went to Victory Lane to take a picture with Kyle, he said there was no disrespect to me, the speedway or the sponsors. He just said he was going to give each one of his guys a piece of the trophy. In the spirit of rock and roll and, as someone who appreciates rock and roll, he put on a show."

yeah, he seems awfully torn up about the whole affair. Again, get a clue.

maybe the fact that you fail to completely grasp EVERYTHING that Bass quoted. It was a lot more than he was just stunned. But since that makes your weak argument seem stronger, it's all you push.

Again, what else was he going to say? "That little punk destroyed in seconds what I have been working for months on!" Like I said, that would just lower him to Kyle's level. He never said he was okay with it. He said he was stunned. Not sure how you can read that any other way.

Why do you fail to address my points and resort to attacking me personally? Clearly a sign that you are outmatched and not confident in your position anymore.

He didn't just smash a regular guitar. He destroyed a trophy. What if he did do that to the grandfather clock? What would the reaction be then? How is it different?

He admits to loving rock n roll and putting on a show and according to him, that's what Kyle did. Not sure how you can take it any other way. and if you consider me telling you to get a clue is a personal attack, you aren't going to survive on VN come football season.
