'20 LA ATH Joel Williams (Kentucky commit)

JJ Peterson.....Bryce Thompson........both got in. both late. both questionable until they actually arrived on campus....one we didn't even know about really until he showed up....... one is a non factor that we need to NOT be a non factor lol.
Thompson was late because he signed with USC, or was at least supposed too. After that blew up we got Bryce. Grades weren't the hold up there.

But JJ was a stretch.

he didn't sign with USCe because of grade concerns, iirc..........and when they wouldn't take his signature, we swooped in.....that's how i remember it going down???

Yea, I think you are agreeing with me. Peterson is probably the only risk he's taken. I don't think we let Thompson join the team late on campus unless the staff knows he was going to qualify. He wasn't a signee.

Sounds right. I guess the moral I was going after is he wasnt a long time risk we were waiting to pan out on. He more fell in our lap and was good to go.

Mullen’s 1st class was 2018. One player left from that class

His second class was 2019, two players left.

Without doing the research, I’m guessing that’s about the norm or maybe even a little better than the norm. Y’all gotta stop believing the FSU and Georgia fan Twitter narrative.
You're right on that being the usual amount of attrition. The problem for the Gators is this attrition was before the summer was even over. That's unusual and all the recent loss of commits and loss of interest would be concerning to me as well. I'm not saying Mullen can't right the ship in Gainesville but it's a concerning start if you're a Gator fan and coincendentally funny as hell if you're a Tennessee fan.

Florida rival fan propaganda. And we have a lot of rivals; Miami, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, FSU, more than anyone, so Florida gets so much more anti-UF chat board and twitter stuff.

Two dudes leaving in the Summer isn’t much different than two dudes leaving in January. And with all the commitments and a few decomittments, there sits Florida with a consensus top 10 class. And still high on the board for a ton of 4 and 5 stars. The program is in great shape, upward trajectory.

The problem is what’s been going on this year and he’s not recruited as well as Florida did when at the top. He can coach players for sure but the attrition this year has to be concerning. It would be for me if it was happening here with players Pruitt has recruited

Mullen is top ten right now, Meyer and partly Muschamp had UF top 5, can’t disagree with that. But with the on-field coaching and product, combined with 2 billion in facility upgrades, I see no problem with Florida climbing from top 10 to top 5 real soon.

Black didn’t qualify either, and you signed him. Pruitt doesn’t sign guys with questionable academics. Tells them, “if you qualify, see you in August.”

I don’t care what UGA fans say because they are more delusional than any other fans, but losing 3 guys before the summer is a red flag.

Ours attrited a little sooner than most programs this particular year. Re-shuffling of the deck in recruiting classes always happens nearly everywhere. Sometimes it’s 2 or 3 kids, sometimes it’s half the class. Florida’s is getting a lot of attention because it happened earlier and because rival fans are wanting to stem the obvious momentum Mullen has brought to the program. All is fair.

Exactly my point. Two transfers and rival fans are wanting to create this perception. Never mind that Georgia and LSU and FSU (and others) have had more transfers of higher profile players and expected contributors than UF. Most anticipated season in a decade for UF starts soon and the nation will see.

LoL okay.

It's the trouble genius not just the transfer. Crawl back into the NY sewer like a good gator.

Happens everywhere, yearly. But when you’re trying to blunt momentum of a rival, you blow is as out of proportion as you possibly can.

I think Georgia has some issues as well especially around the time Fields left.

Yes, especially after Fields claimed he had racial issues underlying his time at Georgia and the baseball player making the racial slur towards him. That didn’t get near the national media buzz it should have because Georgia is sorta the media darling right now in ESPN and Finebaum circles.

This is a good chance for UF and UT fans to team up and knock Georgia down a notch, if we could get more coordinated. I’m for the days of the East being a UF-Tennessee thing again.

Here are the stats on the SEC programs in regard to the Portal as of June 9 (from Cole Cubelic's Twitter).View attachment 209375

Thank you. So Florida is middle of the pack. None of the 5 who left were gonna do anything at all this year except deep, deep backups or maybe special teams.

This completely defies this silly notion that UF is having some sort of transfer portal catastrophe. Thank you for posting.

What trouble? One player accused of a sexual assault who had never played a game at UF and had only been on campus a few weeks? Not good, but certainly not a situation Florida is alone in. UT had a player arrested. Georgia has multiple players arrested. Dozens and dozens of programs have. What’s your point? Only UF has had a player or two get into trouble??

And I’m not from NY.

No problem, the more concerning thing, if I was a UF fan would be losing players out of your backyard, that you SHOULD get, that not long ago you thought you WOULD get, like Bowman to Clemson and Beck, Braun, and Jalen Carter to UGA.

Mullen’s recruiting is a significant upgrade over what UF was getting under Mac and will continue to improve as he goes. Florida is dropping 2 billion, yes 2 billion into facilities over the next several years with the emphasis on football. Florida is basically saying, “y’all want an arms race on facilities, we’re in and we’re taking it to a unprecedented level.” UF’s rival fans act like Florida is getting nobody in recruiting, when the fact is Mullen is reeling in plenty of outstanding players, and will have back-to-back top 10 classes when it’s all said and done. All these alleged recruiting struggles yet Florida’s 2020 class is ranked 8th right now nationally and 4th in the SEC behind Bama, UGA and LSU. And with a great season and some serious talent still considering UF strongly, UF could finish with a top 5 class or better.

Mullen took McElwain talent and went 10-3 in year one with a major bowl win. He finished 7th in the country in the final AP (tied with Georgia) and 6th in the final coaches poll (two spots ahead of Georgia). So Mullen finished better than Kirby in YEAR ONE with someone else’s players. And if you look at Kirby’s year 1 at UGA v Mullen’s year 1 at Florida, it’s a totally lopsided win for Mullen. Kirby lost to McElwain that year.

Georgia is in trouble in the East with a resurgent Florida under Mullen and they know it. That’s why Georgia and their fans are so damn nervous and worked-up right now.
All you accomplished with that post was showing how bad of a little brother syndrome Florida has for Georgia. Sad.

You don't have a top 10 class when several of them either transfer or go juco before they even get to play a snap.

Lol, you sound like the one who is worried about UGA not the other way around. We've just got to worry about getting back to playing our brand of football, I think we've got a guy with laser focus on doing that. Do that and we won't need help from anybody.

This is a kid I hope we don't get now. Seems to be all over the place with needing attention and creating drama. Floriduh deserved this.

I’m trying to figure out if this guy is being serious or just having some fun being an jacka**?

I honestly think the person is having fun just arguing or we are teaming up on someone who has a mental break with reality caused by the dumpster fire at UF... tough scene to watch it live in this thread.
