Usually when a recruit isn’t picking us, AP tries to let us down easily.

This seems different. For Mauigoa he kept saying I don't know where is going. This one he seems way more confident with him saying we are in it more than anybody else thinks. This may just be my optimism so take it with a grain of salt.

Ramil, Francis and Tate recruitments all seemed to turn in the last 2-3 days. 5-7 days before they all committed it seemed like they were ours (maybe not as much with Tate). I’ll feel a lot better on Sunday if AP is still maintaining this opinion

the difference in those three vs. Matthews and Gibson is that all three of the aforementioned prospects were all considered heavy(at least for Tate and FM) TN leans for a good while, up to the point they weren't.

with these cornerbacks, it's been the opposite, we're the program charging late....

still, it ain't over, til it's over....so the point is still valid.

He's going out of town on an overseas golf trip today . When I asked about Matthews this morning, he just smiled and said "things still look pretty good." FWIW. Who freaking really knows with these kids and NIL.

With all that being said Tennessee is still battling for Matthews, having daily communication with the blue-chipper this week including head coach Josh Heupel being involved. The Vols would love to add Matthews to the nation’s No. 11 recruiting class.

“Coach (Jerry) Mack has done a great job,” Randall said. “Always coming down and doing a great job recruiting guys in the area. He’s done a great job making Jordan also feel that’s a place he can go and feel comfortable and develop as a person and player and that’s why they’re still on the table.”

you're so right,about all we can really do is wish and hope, and I wish and hope Matthews is a Vol
