‘23 LA CB Jordan Matthews (Tennessee)

Wiltfong:

With all that being said Tennessee is still battling for Matthews, having daily communication with the blue-chipper this week including head coach Josh Heupel being involved. The Vols would love to add Matthews to the nation’s No. 11 recruiting class.

“Coach (Jerry) Mack has done a great job,” Randall said. “Always coming down and doing a great job recruiting guys in the area. He’s done a great job making Jordan also feel that’s a place he can go and feel comfortable and develop as a person and player and that’s why they’re still on the table.”
Well, what was “all that being said?”

Then on Monday afternoon, Baton Rouge, La. defensive back Jordan Matthews will announce his college choice. If you simply look at this recruitment from 1000 feet in the air, all signs point to Texas. We aren’t ready to go there yet as we have said for a while the Vols are way more in this than people give them credit for.

Let’s face it, the rule is Baton Rouge kids stay home at LSU but Matthews clearly is the exception to the rule. Another rule is you follow the visits, and he has been to Texas a lot more than he has been to Tennessee but might he be the exception there as well? Time will tell but we don’t believe he has told either school as of now.
