'21 LA DT Maason Smith

This is a name I was told about and those names associated with him are real possibilities too. It’s still early and Jimmy B and Nieds are one helluva combo. These guys are making it easy Fulmer style for Ansley and Pruitt to just be closers. Guys this could be the beginning of something very beautiful. I can honestly say that when my phone rings from 865 I answer quick as to in the past I’d ignore or be hesitant. It’s a damn rock ad roll show in Knoxville and we hv a crazy working HC and staff who cares about restoring to Big Orange brand.

This makes me believe this class is truly going to be the one that puts us back among the elite programs in the country. If they can land the type of class that now appears a real possibility instead of a pipe dream, I’m of the opinion Pruitt would consider this his home and even if Bama came calling he would prefer to remain here with the program he has rebuilt rather than living in Saban’s shadow.

Don’t sleep on Coach Brumbaugh. He’s not just a good recruiter.

Chandler Jones out of Syracuse, Bud Dupree from UK and ZaDarius Smith out of EMCC are just a few unknowns that have been under his tutelage.

In case you didn’t know, that’s 2 Pro Bowlers and one that just missed out in spite of having 11.5 Sacks in the NFL last year.

From his article on 247:

“I mean, a lot of dudes stay here, and I’ve always wanted to be different,” he said. “I never really grew up an LSU fan, so it’s not like it’s been a dream of mine to go to LSU. That’s why, I guess, I’m a lot more open-minded than some dudes.
“Granted, they do a great job recruiting. I mean, I have a great relationship with their whole coaching staff. But I guess what keeps me so open-minded is, I feel like I’m meant for more — not, like, I’m meant for more than LSU, but I want to see things. I’ve barely been out of the state of Louisiana my whole life, and I kind of just want to go see something different.
“LSU is definitely a place that I can see myself at, because there’s a lot of benefits for me, being from Louisiana — born and raised. But I definitely want to see other places before I just make a decision, because you never know until you go see things. You never know what you want until you see other things.”
Exactly what I want to hear from a young man. Yes get out, experience new things!

Usually 1-3 in the State will go elsewhere but LSU's evaluations are not always in-line with everyone else. I would only expect LSU to sign 8-10 guys this year from Louisiana, its a very weak in State class.
You're not honestly saying LSU doesn't want this guy, are you?

I believe that is what he is saying. Lol. The old we didn’t want him anyway. Hilarious.

Do you believe in unicorns as well? I neither said or implied what you are "believing".

My bet is LSU on this one. I would expect the vast majority of the State's recruits not to be at LSU, 8-10 tops from the State, maybe as low as 5-6. LSU has 10 commits and only 1 is from Louisiana, a punter. Probably the worse HS class in La. in the modern era.

Wow, that’s really bad especially for Louisiana.

Yeah, its not good this year at all, 8-10 from the State might be on the high end. Smith and Ryan at the top, Williams is good but Bama bound, maybe Jones... other than that like 5-6 decent wide receivers.... very very weak after that.
