‘23 LA QB Arch Manning (Texas commit)

Doubtful but hes 1.000 rated

Which makes absolutely zero sense to me. Also all other QB prospects would absolutely be punished rankings wise for dodging all the combine and camps. There are 3-4 QB’s in this class who absolutely should be rated higher IMO.

We’ll have to see how Arch ends up as a college player. I’m sure he is getting a bump due to his name and really don’t see him as a perfect score recruit, but what do I know? Being the scion of a family of HOF players isn’t nothing, however, and a lot of these legacies do work out.

What is objectively true at this point is the Arch Effect on recruiting. Since Arch committed on Thursday, Texas has gotten 7 new commitments and is now up to #3 in the composite. And there are more on the way imminently.

I just looked at Texas's recruiting and they have cleaned up in recruiting in June. Meanwhile, with all the hype on our recruiting visits commits is almost quiet as a mouse. It's yet to be seen how these QB's careers will go but one thing is for sure is Arch seems to have given Texas recruiting momentum.
And why don't we recruit the state of Texas anymore? They have 60 four stars or above according to Rivals.

We recruit Texas. They just don't commit here very often. Outside of the Big12 and A&M not many schools are getting a lot of the top talent out of Texas.

Because Texas kids primarily staying in region. So many people after those same kids. TX/TX AM/TCU/Baylor/Arky/LSU/Bama/TX Tech.

The Arch Effect on recruiting has been very real. As for us getting players out of Texas, for whatever reason over the years we have never had much luck with the players we pulled from that state. It’s downright weird in some cases

LSU has traditionally done well in East Texas, Houston, and the Golden Triangle, but Kelly is really off to a tough start so far. Ohio State has cherry-picked some real high profile skill position players from the state since Urban Meyer’s regime as well.

Derric Evans, and it was under Johnny Majors. He was a DB on the Dallas Carter team that won the state championship in 1988, beating the Odessa Permian "Friday Night Lights" team in the semi-finals. Jesse Armstead was his teammate. He committed on local television from a hot tub, and a few months later he and 5 other players got busted for an armed robbery ring and he ended up doing 6 years in prison. That's an extreme case, but it just goes to show we haven't had much luck with Texas players going back a long time.

Yes! That was it. I couldn't remember the details. Can't believe it was all the way back to Johnny.

Recruiting expert says 5-star QB Arch Manning would be a 3-star if not for last name

"When he has had to step up against other competition, especially in the playoff game where he looked awful, it just hasn't translated," Farrell said. "Every time I watch other quarterbacks in this class, it knocks Arch down in my head."
Everytime I hear or read anything from this guy, I immediately go to him talking to an underrage girl on SM - one on one - in a very creepy fashion. Dude is just strange as ****.

I'm not sure 3*, but I don't think he's a perfect grade 5* by any stretch of the imagination.

If his name was Shorty Puddlejump, he'd probably be a 4*.

Cam Seldon does more for his team, looks better at his position and plays lower level talent. He's a 4*. Either he should be a perfect grade 5* or Manning needs to be brought down a peg or 2. . . or Seldon should be upgraded a bit and Manning downgraded a bit, both low 5*s.

Regardless of who is committed where; who would you start right now if you had Manning and Iamaleava on your roster? Iamaleava.

Regardless of if his rating is due to his last name or not, when was the last time you saw a player from that family not be good? Arch will be very good too.

If arch Manning was actually a 1.000 rated quarterback, he would:

1. Not be scared of competition and go to the elite 11 quarterback competition.
2. Not have gone to Texas. That is where quarterbacks go to die.
3. He would have committed to a current SEC team.

Everything about him screams “ I am not as good as everybody else and I know it”

Really a bizarre story. The kids that got together and did it, if I recall, were from good homes, with good parents, for the most part. Very sad story also.

You guys are crazy. Arch will be good. Idk how good but he will be good unless something crazy happens and he’s injured. He has the physical tools, and all the access to whatever knowledge he needs at the position. I think there are better QBs but I have little doubt the kid will be in the nfl after three to four years at Texas.

I think there's no way he lives up to a perfect rating. They doesn'tmean he won't still be very good.
And the supporting cast bring put around him looks like it's gonna be pretty good. And there's still a year, maybe 2, of playing in the no defense conference.

He committed to a program with an already existing 1.000 QB recruit that he'll have to compete with. Texas will be in the SEC by his second year, which will likely be his first year as a starter. That doesn't scream anything.
