He's credited on 247 with signing 4 really good recruits in his first ever class. Including grey and Mauer and 2 big ol. And there's been some mention that he's a guy that everybody thinks is going to be a head coach very soon so I don't think his coaching is that bad. But it is hard to tell cause the only time he's talked about is by people who assume he shouldn't coach RBS because he was a qb and don't realize he actually did a good job recruiting given that it's his first time doing it.*Speculation on my part:
1.I've rarely seen him mentioned in our successful high target recruiting results.
2. RB coach is often mentioned as a job any coach can do. Yet, it appeared to take Pruitt getting involved to help straighten out Jordan's bouncing to the outside issues.
Maybe his success in areas just hasn't been highlighted by media but what little I have to go off of, I haven't been overwhelmed.
But always open minded to being completely wrong.
Yeah, I sure didn't know and thank you. He's credited on 247 with signing 4 really good recruits in his first ever class. Including grey and Mauer and 2 big ol. Yeah there's this weird perception that he's doing a bad job but I'm not convinced it's true. This is his first recruiting class ever and he's credited with signing Eric Gray, Brian Maurer, Warren Burrell and Chris Akporoghene. I'd say that's a pretty good first class. And he's been mentioned by a bunch of next years class as well. As far as coaching, that's harder to quantify but I'm guessing he's better than what a lot of people in here give him credit for.Yeah, I sure didn't know and thank you.
VQThe former Kansas quarterback commit took a quiet visit to Tennessee this summer, working out for then-offensive coordinator Tyson Helton.
The Vols loved Gendre’s athleticism and speed, but they opted for a more traditional quarterback, settling on signee Brian Maurer. The Louisiana native maintained communication with the staff, though, even after Helton departed for Western Kentucky.
Florida State remains the frontrunner here, but Tennessee is at least exploring the idea of adding a second quarterback/athlete to its class.
At this point if we can take him that’s great. If not- oh well. I’m LeGendre neutral at this point...
Look at his 247 page. Pretty good list of signings for a 1st year recruiting. Our RBs were talented to begin with. Gillespie did a great job. My biggest issue is with recruiting. He was the weakest link. Many thought his FLA connections would be worth him being hired. He hasnt really done anything n the recruiting trail.
I know I’m a little behind here, but how does a thong get all bunched up...unless it’s on the floor.Calm down Sally. Don't get your thongs all bunched up now.
I didnt keep on. I made a statement. You got your widdle feelings hurt.
Take it up with Ainge. He said it.
If true it's not a surprise.
Sorry you have some weird thought that the 51% guy with 25ints that has already been recruited over twice going on three times was somehow the next great UT qb. Lmao
