So no one should post what people connected to the program says? Sorry what the radio guys said upset y'all so much.

I posted a statement then y'all got all hysterical.

They said it. Could be right could be wrong. It has been said several times. Wouldn't be a surprise with Shrout's resume.

You didn't have anything showing who said it or when. That is an unsupported rumor that nobody else on here has seen or heard. Maybe it's true but unless there's some evidence provided there's no reason to believe it. Nobody other than you got hysterical. People just questioned where you heard the rumor. Rightly so.

I made a statement. People got all hysterical accusing me of dumb stuff and acting like it is impossible for the guy we picked up last second to be blah.

I gave the info on where I heard it.

I listen to sports talk when I'm in the car. It has been said several times. Others on here have heard it also.

They discussed Friend and Pruitt interfering with playcalling and the evaualtion of Shrout and KC being the main issues several times.

I haven't seen an article about the playcalling either. Doesnt mean they haven't discussed it.



There is a reason we are trying to bring in all the good qbs we can. Our next qb after JG is not on campus.

It will be one of Mauer, Bailey, or LL if he comes. All three are ranked higher with better offer lists than Shrout was for good reason.

FTR, do you actually have anything to go on (besides a hunch) about Shrout’s development. We’ve seen nothing from him this far and the only time he’s been mentioned by coaches was the same type of stuff you hear about any freshman QB with a big arm.

I stated that he has a very high upside and a strong arm after this comment. It is obviously just a hunch I have no insider information. Aside from him moving to the 3QB spot last year after doing really well on the scout team.

I think Maurer may have more tools than Shrout, but hey man...all I really hope is that we get really good/great QB out of somebody. Shrout definitely has a big head start on Maurer. If JG falters badly, or gets hurt (and I hope neither happens) He may never see the field as a starter again. He is just so limited it seems, but I hope Chaney can get some Crompton 09like results out of him.

I heard that too. Said Shrout was one of Helton’s takes, just like Chryst, and that has probably doomed him in Pruitt’s eyes. Lately Basilio’s info has been very reliable.

Tennessee is set to host four official visitors this weekend, including a pair of Louisiana natives — QB/ATH Lance Legendre and WR Dwyan Griffin.

Both of these guys are David Johnson recruits.

There's obviously been a lot of scuttle about Johnson possibly looking around (LSU, AU and Houston have all been mentioned in some capacity) but if those visits remain on track — and right now they are — I'd be surprised if any staff movement happens before this weekend.

Now ... if those visits get cancelled...

Yep. And I'm definitely not the first to post this.

Makes sense. Pruitt values taking care of the ball. Shrout's biggest weakness apparently.




I don't know why people are surprised. Shrout was always a longshot to play. We took a chance on potential when all the good qbs were already signed.

Yeah, I've ragged on him before, but most of his info has been pretty reliable lately. He's still been off on a few things, but he's been doing better.
