Well, different systems and objectives. Lady Vols will play 10 and rotate often so a scrimmage probably looked more like a real game. Rick said he played guys together the other night that you probably won’t see in the season. I’m not putting much into either result.

Also, we don't know what the UNC coach's goals were for this scrimmage.

This young coach has more talent on this team than she has had her entire career. Can't imagine how good she will be when she has top 5 talent. I don't care if either team played defense, this is a great way to start with all new faces for each other. GBO 🍊 💥

I knew based on how quiet and focused the team has been over the last week that they were locked in.
Forget recruiting and all the rankings talk, this roster right now is as athletic as any in the SEC.
Coach Caldwell, Coach Lazo, and Coach Tubner understand this and are 100% focused on winning this season. This roster can matchup athletically and talent wise with any team in WBB.
This is not a typical year 1 stint. They are preparing to compete and win now.

It looks like this tweet is blowing up and drawing lots of attention to the program. The scrimmage didn't count, but that's a win.

A few commitments from the 2025s that visited would add gasoline to the fire!

If you stroll over to the UNC board, they are claiming Banghart played only the bench. 🤣 I know scrimmages like this can be played in different ways, and I find UNC to be overrated anyways, but I’m excited for Thursday and to see the squad again CN. Regardless 96-79 to me, seems like a legit scrimmage to me and both teams came to win.

There are a couple of lots right across frm the baseball field, near the old Stokley site that are free. Quick walk to TBA.

The LVs beat NC St, who turned out to be a final four team, last year in the secret scrimmage. Reportedly beat them handily. Then of course NC St turned out to end the LVs season months later. Take from all of it what you will.

Can't say I read anything in the above (at this time) that isn't reasonable, or that I would disagree with--in the absence of facts otherwise.

Maybe one thing that is safe to say: it's a positive for our ladies to know early what it feels like to soundly whip another team. The memory of that can fuel harder work and more intensity in practice, and in subsequent games a desire and confidence to go experience that feeling of dominance again.

Barnes is an awesome coach! UT is very fortunate to have him! It isn't Barnes fault that UT players shot 23% from beyond the 3pt line and 30% from the rest of the floor. Most teams lose most games with shooting percentages that low! Unless, they out rebound their opponent by a lot. UT also got less boards than IU! Get a clue!

Evidently a secret scrimmage was not all that much of a secret. I think this team is talented mainly because of speed and athleticism. Spearman is 6'5" but she could play guard. Looking forward to the scrimmage tomorrow.
