Lady Vols - National Anthem

Im done with them ... I was a supporter ..but when they knelt on that floor during at time to honor All ( black and white ) that have died for this country and kept us free .. I was done ..will NEVER go to another Lady Vol game or watch ever.
nobody cares

as in nobody cares if you support them or not
I think there are some who do ... there are alot of older generation lady vols fans who were supporters ..who had close blood releatives that had those bullets flying overhead .. and some did not come back ..defending the USA ... so yea when I stand for the national anthem im remembering those who have does and who fought .. its personal to me ... for them to kneel is just a disgrace and the the Coaches to allow is worse .. if they want to huddle in the middle of the court after the game and chant whatever or kneel and hold signs or ?? fine with me .. freedom of speech .. but if you live in this country and are free to go and say as you please then you have a responsibility to stand during OUR national anthem PERIOD !!!!!!

But if we're "free to go and say as you please" why is it required that I stand? Why must our actions be the same and only what you approve of?

Because it's the National Anthem, and there is a protocol for when it is played. Don't like it? Then stop playing the National Anthem before games. Then I'm okay with it. But if the anthem is played, then you honor it.

Those who don't, and those who defend them, are dead to me. Including the Lady Vols. Personally, I won't ever watch or support them again, and if they folded tomorrow, it would be one day too late.

There are way too many simple marble headstones in National Cemeteries all across the United States, and all over Europe for me to give this a pass. Not to mention the unmarked graves, and the unknown dead who never got a headstone. Is it too much to ask you to spend one minute of your life before each game to honor the nation that gave you the life you have, and those who died to protect it?

We are never going to agree on this. While I do not understand, and do not respect your position on this, I would remind you that the National Anthem is the anthem of the nation you live in. To some extent, you are where you are thanks to those who came before you. Their sacrifice, to some extent, paved the way for the life you live today. If you think that doesn't deserve a measure of respect, then so be it. I am of the mind that you honor your elders, and those who served the nation that you call home. Our elders created the tradition of standing for the National Anthem. They knew why they did it.

Some of us have apparently forgotten. Most of them have no idea what it means to stand their watch. I'm not the least bit surprised.

Protocol that you believe you should follow. The great thing about this country is so many fought for the right of others to not follow it. Don't like it? Close your eyes and be glad you have the freedom to choose either

Playing it before a ball game means none of the rest of that.

No, they fought for the principles upon which this nation was founded. You know, back when it was "One Nation, Under God". They didn't fight for anyone's right to "not follow" anything. "Freedom" wasn't the ability to do whatever you want, it was the ability (freedom) to pursue life, liberty, and happiness without interference or restrictions from the government. They fought for a Constitution that laid out in very clear terms those very principles. That's what we honor when we stand for the Anthem.

Not that it really matters, but how have you served your nation, if I may ask?
