Tell me more, when did this “ new Rule” go into effect? I assume it was after they knelt during the National Anthem And who made this new rule?

yes, the admin did and it started that sh__storm.
You don't just take away your player's voice by holding them hostage
uncool
no matter what your opinion of the kneel thing-uncool

They are way too focused on taking a knee than playing basketball. I hope this group of disrespectful players lose every game they play. Harper should give these over-privileged pampered unappreciative brats a lesson on the men and women who died under this flag.

I served,
so Americans can have a voice.
Not to censor it.

I do not agree with disrespecting the flag or National anthem in any way
But I also believe in the freedoms I served to protect.

I detest Collin Kapernick for starting this unpatriotic display,
but I do not agree with crushing the voice of these kids either.
And I feel holding them in their dressing rooms while the anthem is played is equally disrespectful

And calling them "overprivileged pampered unappreciative brats" is, again,
equally disrespectful

Coach.. I respect you... but nah.

They have every right to kneel and you serving doesn’t give you more say than the next person. I appreciate all you done for this country but when I hear ppl say this and then put down a behavior typically the person is not if color.

Do you know how many men and women of color serve and their children are being told “I served and it’s disgusting” or “ I served and it’s ok” .. a w beat of two service members... we don’t care. We served too. I served each time a parent was gone for weeks sometimes months and years on end. Each time a parent brought home their ptsd and traumatized me, I served. Different form of service to this country but it’s service and deserves to be respected. Same for African Americans... there’s been so much service to this country without payment it’s clearly a crime... if you’d like further conversation then let’s have that offline.. but I wish all of you would stop with the kneeling conversation at this point. Seriously. No matter who the
Person is.

It isn’t equally disrespectful to call them “overly priveledge brats”... it’s rooted in racism and bigotry. If you don’t know or understand that you have no business working with young black female athletes. And I mean that.

I think you need to re-read my post

and BTW @mudcat1973 it was NOT the player's choice to stay in the lockerroom, it was the administration's

Taking a knee,,,,, Is this to protest society, or the flag that represents the country that they want to see change. Yeah, the same flag that hangs over the country that allows change by the people. Imagine this disrespect in, let's say China or Russia. Yeah, people of this tolerant country have the right,,, BUT!!

First off LOL at all this crying over the anthem.

Bunch of snowflakes getting mad over kneeling.

As far as turnovers goes, too many times our big girls are just clunky in terms of ball handling. Also can't remember how many times I've seen rebounds bounce off hands (even though we are a great rebounding team overall). Think sometimes we overinvest in size over talent and finesse.

So, you detest Collin Kapernick for peacefully kneeling? There are a lot of people that served, that also stormed the Whitehouse, injuring and hurting people that still serve. Is that act unpatriotic, or were you one of them? Asking for me. Go Lady Vols!

Your response is overly dramatic and not respectful to the majority of citizens who respect the flag and understand that brave men and women DIED for this nation, despite it's imperfections. Like you, I served as well and I had friends whose bodies were draped with this flag and I have other heroes who were wounded. When I go to a sporting event, I do not want to see these overprivileged brats display their political views. I simply pay to watch competition. If they want to display their political views there are all kinds of forums they can use and that is fine with me, whether I disagree or not. Nobody is "crushing" their right to free speech. Just asking them to be a little RESPECTFUL of others, like they demand. Your dramatic words quite frankly are sickening!

You demeaned my previous comments by childishly correcting my typos and never bothered to comment on the meaning of my post. You noticed I corrected them as I can always admit when I am wrong, unlike you. Further, you insulted our nations heroes by putting up a display of Sergeant Carter. I do not know what branch you served in but I can assure my service was not like Gomer Pyle and I can assure you the brave men and women who died service was not a Gomer Pyle experience as well.

I also blame the UT administration for allowing this behavior. They always preach their primary responsibility is to teach you men and women how to become productive citizens. Well, respect for others is a fundamental principle in life that is and has been ignored by the educational leaders. They are as much to blame as the athletes themselves, maybe more.

Finally, yes they are overprivileged brats. They have received a full scholarship, get to experience being treated like royalty and meet people who can better their lives. Yet they dishonor the flag and the people who gave them this opportunity. "Overprivileged brats" is probably the nicest words I can think of to describe this behavior.

Yes I hope they lose every game they play. Not a winning attitude in sports or life! Yes you do need a History lesson as well along with learning respect for others.
