Lady Vols Recruiting Info

Harris was not a jersey fill she will play st least 8–11 mins a game which is good she gets to play behind two good post in green and cedes she has no choice but to go five on five and it makes you want to play better I have hope for All Lady Vols we need to go st least 9 deep all season come on kd and be a better rebounder and defender no one is asking you to be a lock down defender just keep your man in front of you an average at least 5 to 6 boards a game

Well she averaged 6PPg and 8 rpg game in HS so I am sure she can do that at the D1 level.

I disagree. I always felt that Jones had the height to play post, and I'm sure she played post in hs, but to me she was not an SEC post player. She had her moments beating slower posts off the dribble, but I think the coaching staff realized she wasn't a SEC post and tried to experiment with her at the 3, which didn't really work...as I'm writing this I realized we're both right. Jones was a small/thin post (but just didn't have the size against the bigger ladies)

Her athleticism gave her the advantage, she didn't have the height but she was like a pogo stick and was always near the rebound, we should've used her to our advantage and not use her to the other teams advantage, playing her at the 3 hurt us more than it helped us imo.

My thoughts exactly

Her agility was a strength but everything thing else was a weakness. Her senior year got off to a great start until the concussion. And if I recall corectly it was at the wimg spot. She was able to get around other wings and get her shot off easily. And thats where she was best defensively. You can win with any post player that can bang, versatile, and defend. The 4 or 5 positioning doesnt matter. Texas had mcghee and I didnt prove to be a great difference for them and the same is happening with baylor and kalani. Yeah they did good things but they lost games against teams with smaller post players

Jones got several concussions for many reasons throughout her career

And the one that happened on the court that kept her out the majority of the the season was the pick set by an opposing player and her head whipped back. I think that was at the same time Ariel got hers. Then she got hit in practice and retired...

How many scholarships do we have open? Any word on ang other visitors besides Ms. Burrell this weekend? Any JUCO updates ?

No, it's not Boston, although she is interested in Tennessee as well.

Hmmm well I’m glad then that TN has two top posts in 19’ that have interest in TN then because Boston is the TRUTH!

I don’t know much about her but what about the young lady Lanetta Williams ranked #35 by hoop gurlz? Has anyone seen her play or heard anything about her? She is from TN and is 6’3”... also has a twin who is about 6’2”... just curious if she is on the UT radar. We have had two good recruiting halls the past two classes so hoping that like with Hayes, Massengill, and hopefully the future Hayeses these TN girls continue to stay and play for UT. I know Vandy has had some success with TN girls as of late as well. A testament to both coaching staffs and the job they are doing.

Saunders or Key? I know you probably can’t say

Key just recently took her visit with her sister. So it's not them.

Some of the post targets for Tennessee are true to the 4 or 5 spot in terms of skill level and some are more versatile so I think a mix of 2 or 3 forwards and posts from the 2019 class is the goal.

Outside of post players I think the biggest targets for 2019 would be Kierstan Bell, Jordan Horston, Rickea Jackson and Breanna Beal. Not the only targets but the highest profile as those four are all elite guards/wings.

I should add Aislynn Hayes is a 2019 target too. So a class of 4 is likely and 5 is not out of the realm of possibility depending on the right mix. We have, as of now, a roster of 8 for 2019/20 season with 1 senior, 4 juniors, 3 sophomores and possibly a 4th sophomore in Rae Burrell that would make it a roster of 9.

There is no way that Harris will play 8-11 minutes a game, unless it is against a creampuff opponent, and I doubt even then.
