Lady Vols Recruiting Info

There is a 4 star 6’ 6” post who is not committed. I think her name is Stephanie Soares. I just wondered if anyone knows if Tennessee has attempted to recruit this young lady. She is in the 2018 class.

She is committed to Master's University verbally. Both her brother 6'10" (Sophomore) and sister 6'3" (freshman) play basketball there. I saw a picture somewhere that looked as if she signed as well.

Thanks but you would think that a top 100 player would want to run with big dogs. I do know that Grambling has a top 100 that is doing very well.

I thought the same thing but when I heard that both of her siblings were at the same school I figured she would probably join them

The Lady Vols have 4 freshman this year. Evina Westbrook, Anastasia Hayes, Rennia Davis, and Kasiyahna Kushkituah, witch will be sophomores next year. The freshman will be Zarielle Green, Jazmine Massengill, Rae Burrell, and Amira Collins. Total of 8 players. So in the class of 2019 and 2020 we can only take a total of 7 players. 1. Aislynn Hayes class of 2019. 2. Alasia Hayes class of 2020. so we only have 5 players left that we can sign over the next two years. Who will they be.

another perspective: 2018

Freshmen= Jaz, collins, Burelle, Zarelle, total=4
Sophmore= Evina, Annie, Davis, KK total=4
Junior = Harris total=1
Senior = MeMe and Green total=2
total=11
Scholarships available =4

Senior transfers: You can have up to 4 as they do not affect any year but 2018

JUCO Transfers: You could have up to four BUT it would affect scholarships in 2019 (see later)

THIS IS THE YEAR FOR EITHER OR BOTH.... ROOM FOR THEM NOW AND NEXT YEAR 2019

2019
Freshmen=Asilynn Hayes, ???????? total=1 ?
Sophomore= total=4
Junior= total=4
Senior= total=1
total= 10
Available=5

Therefore you could take Hayes plus 5 more but that amount would affect 2020. (SEE Later) Plus a JUCO from 2018 would affect the 5 available scholarships for this year! However if you can get a JUCO for 2018.....This is the year to get one as you have 5 scholarships available even after Hayes! (in 2019) Also a Senior transfer would not hurt for this year as 5 scholarships and they would be gone in 2020!

2020
Freshmen= Hayes plus???? total=1 ?
Sophomore=Hayes plus ??? total= 1 ?
Junior total=4
Senior total=4
total=10 ?

Available=5 ? minus scholarships 2019

Assuming Hayes plus 5 scholarships for 2019= 0 for 2020
Assuming Hayes plus 4 scholarships for 2019= 1 for 2020
Assuming Hayes plus 3 scholarships for 2019= 2 for 2020
Assuming Hayes plus 2 scholarships for 2019= 3 for 2020
Assuming Hayes plus 1 scholarships for 2019= 4 for 2020
Assuming hayes plus 0 scholarships for 2019= 5 for 2020

This year would NOT be a good year for Senior transfer or JUCO as there are too few scholarships to offer!

Our biggest NEED for 2018-----2020 is Inside Players be it a 4 or 5 position! A Senior transfer or JUCO is better for 2018 year which would have the least affect on recruiting.
You definitely need bigs for the years 2019 and 2020 which again limits your choices in scholarships.

JMO: Get a big JUCO in 2018 which will help Greens last year and KK and Collins in the future. It also helps 2019 just in case we strike out with bigs for 2019!

JMO: (2019) you take Hayes (point guard) and a Big and the best (2 or 3 position player available) Thats three leaving you three scholarships for 2020. However, if you have another highly ranked recruit for 2019.....you better take them as you never know what you would get in the future and as they say a "bird in the hand is better than one in the bush" (for next year) :rock:

That great we will need a big class in 2021

I wonder why Hoopgurlz has her ranked so low? It seems that she's a consensus top 10 player by everyone but them.

I never said because I’ve never seen her play - but a good handful said shortly after she committed that her senior year will really allow her skills to shine because the last few years she was surrounded by so much talent. This year she gets to be the leader. Hoop girls will do an end of the spring update and she will rise a lot!!!

I mean other rankings services. She's a McD AA and will likely make the Naismith team. Yet she's ranked in the 70s by Hoopgurlz. When they did the last adjustment, they dropped her even further. Just seems weird that she's not getting a lot of respect from just them.

Jordan Horston 6’1” pg Ohio. Took an unofficial visit in January!

She has official visits to North and South Carolina and Duke. Also an unofficial to Louisville. She says : “ taking my time and enjoying the process”. She also has interest from Uconn etc. She has other official visits available,,,, maybe she comes back for an official visit ?

Amira is having a monster senior season way above what she did in her first three seasons. She will be a welcome addition to our inside game next season.

I think we’re going to have a lot of grit on the inside with KK, Green, and Collins! They’re all so physical, which will be a welcome change. Hopefully we won’t have to worry about the non existent help side D we’re getting now with Mercedes.?

I went to the Hamilton Heights Christian Academy game tonight in Dayton Tennessee. Jazmine Massengill really looked good tonight. She handle the ball great, dribbles the ball very well. I love there coach Keisha Hunt, she pulled some players out of the game including Jazmine Massengill and got in there face. I talked with the couch some tonight. Enjoy talking with some of the players. I ask Jazmine Massengill if she was ready to come to Tennessee she said yes. I watch the boys game after the girl game. They have a great team as well. They have a 7 foot 1 inch Uros Plasvic that is very fast. He is unbelievable to have that much speed at this height. Also 6' 9" Jason Jitoboh is the real deal also. There are two schools in Chattanooga Baylor and McCallie that recruit across the USA. I watch the boys beat McCallie by 20 pointss, it cost 20 dollars to get in the game. They beat Baylor boys by 15 points.
NACA Sports.net you can catch the games here. The girls play Thursday at 11:30 am and 4:00 PM.
