We finally scratch a measly run and then, with victory in sight, Arnold falls completely apart. Fundamental mistakes--walking the leadoff hitter, a pinch hitter, in the 7th? Inexcusable. Then walks another. That's how you lose games--that and crappy hitting. Hitting has not been good but our pitchers have kind of given away these two games.

Correct. This is a talented team. The pitching and fielding and speed is better than last season. The hitting is not - they haven't yet replaced Overstreet or Gaffin's bat. This team could easily finish 8th or lower in the SEC yet beat last season's team in a 3-game series IMO.

Yeah looking forward to the NC State weekend series...just to give them a break already from SEC play....Just gotta find the right combination of hitters that will put hits together consecutively

We need the game tomorrow badly hopefully we'll find a way. I knew we were in trouble after walking the first batter in that inning you have to make the first batter hit the ball regardless of where she hits it.

Ralph needs to find a way to shore up the bottom of the order. I know the top of the order didn't do anything today but the bottom four have struggled all season long no one has done much.

I think if you throw strikes and get hit they done it to you but when you walk batters your giving them the game.

Leach, Vines and Gregg together have 1 hit in 2 games. That's been the big problem.

Two bad losses in a row.

I have a box score question: What does the acronym SH mean? Weimer had an SH in this game and can't figure out what it is. tks.

I don't think any SEC loss is a bad loss this year deep deep conference

Yeah I don't think either one of these losses has been bad losses by my definition. They have been tough and disappointing losses for sure but to me a bad loss is where you either don't compete or the other team just beats the crap out of you. The South Carolina loss was a bad loss, they didn't compete.

Regardless, these freshmen and sophomores have to get mentally tough and compete every pitch for every inning. It doesn't get any easier and as a matter of fact gets a lot tougher.

When you hitting your winning and when your not your losing in the SEC. I think this team will still win as many as they lose in the SEC some of these hitters will snap out of their slumps eventually.

I think most of us on would have thought we would win more than we lose but we may as well face the facts!! May and may not!! Team young and on 2 hitter we can depend on and slappers to 3rd is killing us, fence swingers
cannot hit and 3 pitch strike watcher and not swings at all is pretty much were we are on offense. Pitching or lack thereof as has been the case for 4 or more years is only slightly above average and defense still suspect.JMHO

Not sure how Weimer is defensively but she has already moved passed Lockman...she is also a catcher.....I wonder how many more chances Lockman has if she doesn't start hitting

I haven't seen Weimer catch but I can't imagine she's any better than Lockman behind the plate who is really good. As a hitter is another matter. Ralph is giving Weimer her chance with the bat in this series.
