The RPI isn’t the be all and end all, unless you actually believe Oklahoma is only the 7th best team in the country lol. And besides it hasn’t even been updated yet to account for getting swept by the worst team in the SEC and following that with a home series loss.

For softball RPI is huge and Oklahoma will be top 3....MS State if you have paid attention has won 7 in a row they're not in last place but go off...also We have no bad losses at all this season

hate to be that person, but state is not the worst team in the conference- that would be carolina. if state can get into the tournament they will be a hard team to beat for anyone. their offense is very good.

If it’s just Ralph which is the word, then I’d go after Josh Bloomer at Duke for hitting (Marc probably isn’t around too) . If it’s both, which isn’t out of question due to Ralph’s health , then I’m going after Aric Thomas at Florida as the next HC.

Fairfield is 5th in the baseball RPI and there is absolutely no way they are going to be a national seed.

Totally unimpressed with our hitting in the SEC. Way to much beating the ball into the ground and swinging at pitches out of the zone. You have to be aware of what a strike looks like to be a good hitter. I am not sure some of our players understand that.

callie was one of the best, if not the best pitcher in her class. in college, she hasn’t found her stride- i dont blame that on the weeklys. the offense is on them they have to fix that but the pitching is not.

Sure you can, Gabby Sprang was too. They neglected evaluation and went after rankings that are inflated.

but if they were to get a low rated pitcher who was evaluated well and she ends up doing really bad in college, fans would say they can’t recruit. ratings are not inflated- players are. some players don’t live up to their hype and it just so happens sprang and turner have not. callie still has time, she’s young and hopefully meghan can turn her around.

We ended up 7th and will take on Mississippi State in first game at the SEC tourney. Then it looks like Arkansas or Alabama for game two if we win.

I think you have to look for players and pitchers in areas that play high quality softball. Where Sprang was playing was a very weak league and state for softball. I think the pitcher we got out of Washington coming in next year will be much better than anyone we have gotten other than Rogers in the last few years. I would hope they would also look in the portal. Of the pitchers eligible to come back other than Rogers and Turner would not wish to carry on the roster another season.

i agree, a transfer pitcher should be at the
top of their list of things to do. i do think the pitcher for washington will be a pleasant surprise. our class next year is pretty good and 2022 is as well.

I've been watching LVs on TV all Spring. Just before each LV pitcher begins her windup (doesn't matter who), two voices can be heard saying something like "Ree" "Aree". Maybe "ready?" "ready!". Who is saying it, and what are they saying? Dugout? 2nd baseman and shortstop? Some fans who travel with the team?

The lady vols say "Ready" before every pitch when they're playing defense

I don’t subscribe to this. Great coaches overcome and bring out the best or can maximize what they have and find ways to win. What’s the lowest in your opinion they can go in rankings? Hazelwood Top 30 player and isn’t in the rotation, so that falls under Turner, Sprang evaluation
as well. Eventually is goes back to coaching and development. Pickens is good but still have lofty expectations early and she is one more full season away before hitting campus.

she may not be ready to retire, but I don’t believe she goes past her contract next year.

The weeklys won’t be at Tennessee much longer imo, let’s just hope we’re left in a good place when they do leave and we hire a coach who is ready to bring us back to the wcws.
