Lady Vols Softball

personally, I think JMU needs UCLA to win tonight for JMU to have a chance to get to the finals --- Oklahoma has 3 viable starting pitchers, JMU has Odicci and a relatively untested frosh

They ought to do something about the batter out of the batter's box. Call it or not, something needs to be changed.

The rule needs to be scrapped by the rules committee. Not called consistently enough, and when it is called can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the game as far as outs go.

I swear that infield is a terror. Too many bad bounces.

FSU's shortstop made at least three errors today (including on back-to-back batters) but was only charged with one for whatever reason. I'm not sure if it's the field or just that she's a bad shortstop since she only has a .922 fielding % on the season.

I think the umps have just thrown the rules out the window for OKC. I've seen countless players out of the box go uncalled in OKC in the highlights I've seen.

It's essentially the batters' version of illegal pitching with umps. Sometimes it will be called and sometimes not. Amazing given that umps can seemingly tell if a batter leaves from first a millisecond early -- and leaving 1B early is another thing that's gone uncalled in OKC.

Right. Too much for the ump to take care of.

I have noticed that the World Series grounds crew does not overly soak the infield before the game so the infield is undoubtedly hard and prone to bad hops. Notice that the players who slide are not completely covered with dirt on their pants. Conversely, the Tennessee Lady Vols grounds crew puts way too much water on the field pre-game and the infield is basically a mud-bath until it sometimes dries out way into the game.

JMU actually has a very good second pitcher by the name of Alissa Humphery. She struck out 5 in 5 IP in their loss to Mizzou in the SRs. She actually has a slightly higher K/IP number than Alexander and a slightly higher ERA and opponents' BA. She has pitched 93IP vs. 132 for Alexander, so I wouldn't say she's 'untested'. I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more of her in the postseason.

Oklahoma cheats, she leaned into that pitch --- already called for interference at 2nd base and at 1st base in prior games

The energy, passion, coaching , etc we see from OU and UCLA etc, makes me wish we had that at UT. It’s time for a change . We won’t get it as it seems Karen will take over , but I so Love watching these Oklahoma and UCLA teams. That’s real softball.

Hypothetical question. If JMU wins the first game and Alabama loses to FSU. They'll be a break in the games? Like a 2 - 2 1/2 hr. break
