LadyinOranges Official Countdown Thread

36 days till kickoff!! ( Can y'all believe I started at 121? )

5 days till our team takes to the practice field!!

WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!

I don't know if you saw my post over on that but I didn't realize it was on in the morning. When LA told me, I had already missed all but the last few minutes. That team was really special and very talented. But if you think about it, as talented as that team was, we still had to go down to the wire against Syracuse and needed "the fumble" to get us past Arkansas. It goes to show you just how hard it is to go undefeated.

Especially in the SEC!

You said it! Only the toughest conference in the nation.

Did you see where Beano Cook said the Vols would finish no less than second in any other conference?

I didn't see that. But I don't see us finishing less than second in the SEC so I would say the same.

They both worry me, but I don't think either of them will go undefeated. We can lose one of those games and still win the conference.

That's one of the many things I like most about you, Freak. Your optimism is unmatched on this board or any other that I have visited. I like reading your posts.

MY opitimism? I thought I read where someone I know predicted we would go undefeated this year.

I love the COUNTDOWN!! WHOOO-HOOO!!! MY favorite ORANGE and WHITE VOLS T shirt is hanging up on my wall....it was the first I ever wore to a VOLS game... I fancy it to be an heirloom someday :) .. LOL....

It already IS.

(If we won the game you wore it to, that is.)

:p

We had Peyton Manning for 4 years broke almost every Tennessee QB record. These were the years we were supposed to win a national championship. The next year what most crictics were calling a rebuilding year and with a unheard of scrambling QB we one our second national championship. The next four years Casey Clausen came in second to almost all of Peyton's records. With all the talent from these years we were supposed to win a National Championship and we came oh so close. Now in 2004 our rebuilding year with a unproven scrambling QB could we win our 3rd title? Could history repeat itself? Just like Bob Kesling said in the dvd Destiny "There were better teams in 1998, but it was like Destiny"

Hey it could Happen!

Better teams in 98? Go wash your mouth out with soap!

Wasn't me I took it right off the Decade of Dominance DVD I watched for like the thousand time yesterday. I think he meant superstar name wise like Flordia State with more big names but not a better TEAM.
