I remember a few years ago sitting in the student section, in about the 3rd or 4th game of the year, and watching a freshman Vol RB wow the crowd by running for 200+ yards. It was the first game in which he had seen action--he was reported to have problems with fumbles in practice as well as difficulties in picking up blocks. But after that game, everyone knew he was special. The year was 1997...you guys know the RB as the NFL single season rushing record holder, Jamal Lewis.
I know that they have completely different running styles, but I can't help but note the similarities in the way that the coaches didn't think they were starting material--only to be proven wrong on game day.
He COULD have run all over them... then again, he COULD have fumbled the game away.
Hardesty would be a force if he'd just pick a hole, and lower his head into it. He's got great size, he just dances way too much. Good call.Could ya'll see the difference in Hardesty and Coker in today's game? Hardesty seemed like he wanted to dance and Coker was the more aggresive, he hit ever hole fast and didn't dance. Hardesty just needs to slow down and just rely on his vision.....seems like he wants to do to much.
