LaMarcus Coker suspension

These young men need to get their heads out of their :shaking2: and grow up a little. Yes, I remember what it was like at their age, that's why I can say this.

Okay, well, let's get on with some speculation. One would assume an incident must have occurred since the close of practice yesterday. I don't see how this could be coming as the result of some class skipping or school work now.

My word.

My second guess, just throwing something out... failed drug test maybe. I would think if it was an arrest we would have heard about something....

Oh well, I'm sure out of the possible 10 RBs we have someone will step in and do a good job. Not very shocking news to me after what happened during Bowl Week this past season.

we just have to hope that foster keeps the ball in his hands....and hardesty can make lots of runs like that one against cal

Coker was our most explosive back. We need him.

He had two or three good runs this past season and our ENTIRE running game was suspect anyways. If he can't do what he is supposed to do and be someone bigger than just a thug then this team doesn't need him anyways.

How freaking dumb do you have to be to know you will be starting for the University of Tennesse and you cant get your head straight. There are people who would sell their soul to be in his place. STUPID. :banghead2:

I have no first-hand information, but sometimes I think we start under-estimating players who have been injured. Many thought he was all-world until his injury. Now, few believe he will be very good. Usually, it takes a couple years to recover, even if it is just mentally. I would expect that Hardesty will do just fine.

And as for Foster, I do not know of any RB who doesn't fumble occasionally. No reason to get caught up in that. Will he fumble again this year? Of course. Let's just hope it is not when the game is on the line.

That's unfortunate. I was looking forward to seeing a healthy Coker with more experience. Oh well.

That's exactly why we have people that know we have a deep depth chart but still choose to come here. There's no reason to get all worked up, and I KNOW your not, about losing Coker. Coker never won or lost a game for us, our team did, and if he doesn't want to be a team player then cut ties with him and be done with it.

This is terrible news. What I don't understand is that Coker didn't have any problems that I know of in high school. Living in Middle, TN; I'm sure I'm not the only one who followed his high school career closely as he was a stud throughout, until he got hurt.

Just not sure what his deal is. The guy is an NFL caliber player and he's been given chance after chance. There is only one thing left to do:

CUT HIM!

You did it to Banksy, you've done it to many others....goodbye Lamarcus Coker. You are just another in the long line of wasted talent due to stupidity. No one is going to give a guy as much leeway as Fulmer gives his kids and enough is enough.

The way I see it is like this:

He's a playmaker, he's "dynamic" and he can turn nothing into something. BUT.....it's going to take alot more than the spark he gave us last year for our o-line to prove themselves.

If they are indeed tougher, more physical, and better without Aaron Sears, then we're going to see how much "better" Arian Foster has supposedly gotten. We've heard it before and we'll hear it again.

My PERSONAL bet is that Montario Hardesty is going to blow up. He's in his 2nd year coming off of his injury and he now knows he can fully trust his knee. The 2nd year is when they all usually bounce back and lets not forget he was the one leading the pack before he hurt his knee.

I think he's a good all around back if he can get his head together mentally from the injury. He has a mixture of Foster and Coker....

Either way, the o-line has to push people around instead of hoping Coker can just break one.

That's because you can cover more up in high school than in the NCAA.

Here is Fulmer's official statement.

"LaMarcus Coker has been suspended indefinitely from the Tennessee football team. He must fulfull obligations to the program and to me before he can return. I have tried, the administration has tried and we all will continue trying to help him, but at this point he must help himself."

"I will not comment again until a later date, after I see how he responds."

Sounds to me like Big Green strikes again.

Settle down a little until you know for sure what has happened...
