LaMarcus Coker suspension

I have not read this thread, and this is first I heard. But this quote says it all

“LaMarcus Coker has been suspended indefinitely from the Tennessee football team. He must fulfill obligations to the program and to me before he can return. I have tried, the administration has tried and we all will continue trying to help him, but at this point he must help himself.

“I will not comment again until a later date, after I see how he responds.”

I fully support the coaches decision on this. Star, future star or depth chart material, I agree with equal punishment accross the board.

If Coker is not up to par, get your act together and prove you are worthy to be on the team.

Sad occasion due to the talk of the upcoming season, but rules are rules.

I think we will be fine even if Coker is gone for good. We will get to see what Creer can do, which is exciting.

Carson-Newman is licking its chops.

I like Coker. I hope he gets it right with the staff and comes back. Creer can bide his time(I think he will be a beast ). Things will open up soon enough:good!:

Damn guys, just give it a bit. You don't know what has happened at all so just shut up about kicking him off. It may have been very minor and Fulmer wants to nip it in the bud. It may be some personal problem that is getting in the way of Coker's judgment. It may be what we are all speculating on. No matter what, we don't know for sure.

I wouldn’t normally do this, in fact I consider it very classless (and no disrespect to the integrity of this site) but you have all but called Cal worthless trash not worth a garbage bin. So, in light of these developments regarding Coker

This situation doesnt change a thing as far as Cal is concerned, no matter what opinion we have of them.

Curious Teddyhead.. what size suit do you wear... and could you mail me a copy of your eulogy?

Isn’t that a bit premature? And the poster asked what I would do if you beat us worse than last year. Fat chance of that happening. You may very well win, but not by more than last year! :nono:

Not you my friend, you have been nothing but kind and that is something I will never forget as long as I live. I hate being mad at Volnation, but there is no way to separate the larger site from the people who have called Jeff Tedford the MOST overrated coach in HISTORY! It was your vicious friends HatVol and KPT that said such things!

Again...Cokers suspension doesnt change things.

We didn't beat you by that much last year. We were killing you, but ole classless Ted decided to keep his starters in against our scrubs, throw deep passes, go for two, onside kick, pretty much do whatever to make it look more respectable than what it was. It wouldn't be out of question to see a 3 TD win. It could be a relatively close game and then a couple big plays at the end make it look worse.

Morale, not moral. And there is plenty of time for that morale to swing. Coker could come back in a week or two and the team could be rejuvenated. Cal could have the same or worse happen. Injuries could occur, who knows what can happen.

Sorry. Can I still create the thread down in the pub?
knock yourself out.

agreed.

I never said it did. I just like the psychological effect on the team and fan base. It dampens moral, plain and simple.

Let me tell you a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP STORY (cause I know as a CAL fan, you dont have any):

Jamal Lewis went down with an ACL tear in his sophomore season of 1998, against Auburn. 2 backups named Travis Henry and Travis Stephens carried us to a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

If you think that losing Coker is a "moral" victory for you..then go ahead...It was a MORAL victory last year at NEYLAND when you guys scored 18 4th quarter points to at least make the final score somewhat presentable.

Wow, what a sloppy spelling error, must be the JD spelling again! About Tedford, would you not want Phil to try and do the same if placed in a similarly untenable situation? I love CPF! I will never forget how he showed us mercy last year. That being said, we have to win this year or we are really in trouble. If we lose we are essentially finished for good. We must do whatever it takes to win! As they say, “all is fair in love and war!”

We could have easily put it in from the goal line instead of running a QB sneak with Crompton and could have kept our starters in the whole game. When you are getting beat by 35 midway through the 3rd quarter and the other team pulls its starters, you have no room whatsoever to talk about a lack of class or mercy.
