Lance Leipold is a terrific coach

The Kansas program is similar to Kentucky when Mark Stoops took over in my opinion. Kansas will have a hard time keeping Lance Leipold when Kansas goes to Bowl Games yearly.
If he gets to a bowl this year Nebraska would be idiots not to hire him if they dont have a big name on the line.

Miserable program stuck in the mid west with nothing really to recruit to.

one would argue he would be an idiot if he went to that dumpster fire. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets offered by Auburn at the end of the year.

Like that's a better dumpster fire? They fire national title coaches, and nearly/should have run off the last guy in his first year. At least Nebraska gives its coaches an honest chance before pulling the rug.

Anywhere will be an upgrade over Kansas.

He’s not exactly a nomad coach. As for Nebraska’s appeal, he spent 13 years as an assistant at either Nebraska or Nebraska-Omaha. I could see him sticking with Kansas.

Kansas is a near sellout for this Saturday against Duke. That is amazing. That would be a huge game at Phog Allen Fieldhouse for basketball. Very happy to see some excitement around their program.

I believe Danny White hired him at Buffalo.
Actually who I wanted, and thought White would go after, but plenty happy with Heupel to this point.
CLL was a Cant can’t miss hire IMO. Won multiple championships at lower division. Coordinator at power 5. Showed incredible success in building Buffalo. Being a previous hire by White, Actually a mystery that he never really popped on the radar.

I think with Auburn the ceiling is higher right now. Neither has stopped digging yet, so I dont know whose floor is lower. Right now give the edge to Nebraska being worse.

I would also think Auburn firing you is a little more forgivable than Nebraska firing you while looking for your next job.

Auburn is the quicker fix but harder to keep stability because of the instant expectations they carry.

I may be wrong but I think Nebraska would give you more time with lower expectations starting with just winning games.

Tennessee fans with their expectations aren't that different than Auburn fans but we lucked out and found the right head coach after four attempts.

Tennessee did “luck out”. Hell, White wanted everyone but Heupel (I understand why) but we got him. I can’t imagine Vols would be here with Elliott as a head coach.

With their win over BYU today, Kansas has started 4-0 the last two seasons. The last time KU started 4-0 in back-to-back seasons was 1913-1914. Hire good coaches, and the results will follow.

I thought the line over BYU was too high and expected BYU to win, but KU proved me wrong. Very impressed with their start.

Saw them play earlier this year.. I forget his name but I really like their QB, he's a playmaker

Leipold to me is the same as Chris Petersen.

Never gonna wow you with his recruiting classes, but when you look at his programs and teams, you realize the guy gets more with less than anyone else.

Many will say Saban is the best, but Chris Petersen may be the most under rated coach of the last 20 years. I wanted him to be at UT so badly when we were searching. If Heupel left tomorrow, Petersen and Leipold would be my first two choices. Dudes can coach.

You’re wrong. Nebraska has just about depleted their patience tanks.
