Lane Kiffin contrasts Tennessee fans and Los Angeles

He named his son Knox and then dipped.

Excellent.

People ignore him in LA because most SC fans are bandwagonners and only show up when they are winning and it's the in thing to do. They have no clue who is on the team or who their coach is.

i really dont dislike the guy anymore. save last year, i always thought he was a good play caller. I think he will always suffer as an HC because I dont think he pays attention to that fine detail. I think he will always attempt to out talent people.

Lane who? 90% of the people in L.A. aren't from there and didn't go to school there. Half of the ones who did-- or who care-- are UCLA fans. Half of the SC fans hate the guy. So the reason they can eat alone in a city of ten million people is that no one even recognizes them, much less cares.

Lane will never be sorry that he left UT. He wouldn't have stuck it out long, no matter what. It was idiotic to think that Kiffin or Dooley were remotely right for UT-- the mismanagement of the Tennessee Program over the past half-decade has been legendary.

Is it that way with the professional teams, too?

Will Tee Martin still be a marketable coach after serving under lame wiffin? Can't knock his loyalty, he had a chance to bolt last year.

Not to tn fans. Screw him. He could've cOme home to a hero's welcome and currently be getting credit for our recent recruiting surge. Instead he's riding the ship down out in that little b**** conference.

Completely disagree. The irony is he showed integrity by NOT leaving after one year to stay with the coach that DID!

He's not the head coach. No ofy ever blames an assistant for not sticking around longer. He made a spectacle out of us courting him do he could get a raise. Wether u want to acknowledge it or not it's what happened.
What was most sad about it all to me was that he also has a teenage son (who I'd assume worships him) living in Knoxville.

Sounds like he misses the fan passion and attention though he doesn't quite want to admit it. In LA he's just another guy but in Knoxville he was a movie star (at least for a short period of time). :eek:lol:

I'm sorry but I wish we still had kiffin

Seems like the venom is directed at Kiffin and not at Mike Hamilton for giving him an easy way out...

Funny, but when Kiffin was doing all of his trash talking and finger wagging, everybody (or at least 75% of the people whining right now) were drinking the Kiffin-ade and liking the swagger he brought to Tennessee.

After reading this, UT only has the 17th most passionate fan base???

Secondly, I'll never cease to be amazed how a Kiffin post can draw the most responses.

I've mentioned this about Dooley and ill say the same for Kiffin.....like it or not, he's a part of UT history and will ALWAYS be talked about for the rest of our lives. Might as well get used to it.
