USC has already lost Marquis Jackson, who signed with Texas Southern. It appears poised to lose Sentreall Henderson, and Glen Stanley.

There were only 20 in the class. This would leave them with 17. For a team that's already well under the limit of scholarship players, this has got to hurt, especially considering they can only sign 15 a year for the next 3 years. If all 3 of these 2010 recruits actually leave, this basically amounts to a 4th year of the scholarship reduction.

Sounds like Texas Southern received quite a gift. I guess that's because the freshmen don't have the opportunity that the upper-classmen have of being able to play right away anywhere. So he went the FCS route.

Guy's been the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Vols, and SoCal Trojans.

He makes millions of dollars per year. Wife's a knockout.

How's he the type of person who fails at everything?

That failure thing seems to be working out pretty well for him. I'd hate to see what success for him would look like.

I wonder how Tennakey's life compares?

USC has a one of the best programs for rewarding contributing walk-ons with scholarships. That is why they take such small classes on an annual basis. They will get hurt because it's a matter of numbers [especially during the spring] but not as bad as some think unless the quality of walk-ons drops off substantially.

The loss of juniors and seniors also could be damaging on all fronts. May have a domino effect. Stay tuned.

it ain't over, it's just starting. and it'll get very ugly.
some of them still have that "we'll be fine because WE're SC!" delusional mentality going on but by the end of their sanction they might have like less than 50 players on their roster.

Yeah? Check his resume and results. What he is good at, very good, is legally extracting large amounts of cash from less than judicious people.

I haven't heard Stanley is talking about transferring. How much truth is there to this?

Actually shouldn't Marquis be a junior this year and thus eligible for the waiver? I know he was a JUCO guy so I'm assuming he played two years of JUCO ball for signing with USC...

Seantrell Henderson and Glen Stanley are not gone yet. If SH is willling to set out a year and GS can obtain a release and/or successfuly appeal then the dominoes start to fall especially if a few Jrs/Srs tranfer.

Pretty damned good way to make a living. I'd do it too if it got me that kind of salary.

Not saying he will but if Kiffin fails at USC I have a feeling you are going to get blasted by all the orange koolaid drinkers. Not that I think you care but it is going to be non stop.

What? If they can only have 15 scholarships a year for the next three years, I'd say they will be hurt for the next ten years.

Walk-ons pay their own dime and therefore do not count against the scholarship limit. They typically play two or three or more years and earn a scholarship toward the latter part of their playing career. USC historically gets an inordinate number of high quality walk-ons. That is why they sign such small recruiting classes. The cream of the walk-ons get the held-over scholarships.

So during their 3-yr reduction period, USC will not be hurt as much as most programs because of their potent walk-on program. This will effectively reduce the bottoming out part of the curve when the effects of the scholarship reductions start showing up in a couple of years. That is if the USC walk-on program remains strong and other factors do not start a domino effect.

That was the point that was being made...read the post again as well the post that was being responded to knucklehead...lol...couldn't resist a shot at your sig.

I have been a big UCLA supporter since our series with them over the past two years. Every UCLA fan that I met / talked to over that period of time was very classy & most of them seem to love UT and rooted for the Vols in every game except theirs.

Oh, and they despise USC.
