Good, funny article. I can't believe how incredibly lucky he is. Must have sold his soul to the devil...maybe that's why his eyes always looked so empty. :unsure:

Did you see on one of the blog sites that he is going to make 4 mil and has only won 12 games in his whole head coaching career and I can say some of them were sloppy wins....No character.....Monty will make over 2mil. Can't wait for the NCAA to lay it on them.....and they will.....

There's a (small) chance that when it is all said and done, USC is the chump and not us.

SC just wanted to keep it going and lets' face it monty, ed O, and kiffin all have been elite assistant coaches in the past. the staff should keep it going for a couple of years at least.

I just read on the front page of Yahoo that Kiffin is being paid 4mil a year and daddy is making 2mil a year. They were making fun about the fact that he only has 12 combined wins as a head coach. Has USC lost their minds?

Makes about as much sense as giving $2M to a guy whose only head coaching experience consists of 17 wins in 3 years in the WAC.

Compare what Dooley had to work with at La Tech and what Kiffin had at Oakland and UT and you decide. I would take the talent we had last year compared to other schools in the SEC over what Dooley had compared to the rest of the WAC anyday. Dooley's salary is pretty average when compared to other SEC coaches. Kiffin will be making what the elite coaches in college football make. I don't think he has done anything to deserve that. I guess that is where we disagree.

Well look at it this way, When he does fall on his face and HE WILL, He will have plenty of money to fall back on....No wonder he left....I guess there really is gold in them thar hills!....With that said, His failure will be sweet sweet music to the entire VOL nation...Cracks me yup how USC fans are defending him now and when UT hired him they were all laughing at us for it and saying stuff like "I hope you can get used to losing with goatboy" Funny how things work.

Dooley recruited 3/4 of that Louisiana Tech team that threw up 4-8 last year. Kiffin only recruited the true freshmen on last year's UT team (and not all of them at that).

So all you've done with this sentence is indict Dooley's recruiting ability.

THere is not a coach in the country who could recruit well at La TEch. Dooley has a pretty good recruiting history. He saved our butts on this last class.

Louisiana Tech certainly has better talent available than Idaho or Utah State.

It's o.k. with me that you have a man crush on Kiffin, but there is no reason for all of the hatred for Dooley. The guy has not coached his first game here. Let's give him a chance. He might surprise you.

i very much doubt your class would have been ranked so high if dooley was doign most of hte recruiting for hte year rather than kiffin.

let's not forget he not only saved all of SC's recruits, but actually brought in some more. he may be a slimeball, but he is a hell of a recruiter.

He can recruit and he is a slimeball, but i'm glad he is gone and I will take Dooley anyday. I know neither of them are proven, but I'll take integrity or douche baggery anyday of the week.
