Large Explosion in downtown Nashville

I worked within 1/2 mile of this area for over 20 years. Yes Hooters and the Old Spagetti FActory looks to be heavily damaged possibly destroyed. One of my kids works in the Nashville media and sent me a viedo of the actual explosion, the vehicle had to be very heavily packed and set on a timer. The voice warning was a computer voice that was actually counting down til the explosion. Below is a photo from the titans stadium looking across the river to downtown. The tall red building with the solid panels is the AT&T bldg that the vehicle was in front of on second ave. The older brown brick 5 story bldgs that the rear of them is on first ave and the front is on second, house Spagetti factory Hooters and others. They were blown out from the front to the rear. One has no front exterior wall from ground level to the roof. More than likely several of those old brick buildings will probably have to come down. Just sad. Huge THANK YOU to the Metro police and Fire departments. Great response guys. please be safe and lets hope that the cameras up and down second ave give the FBI some big clues to catch the one responsible.

The AT&T building apparently houses equipment used by the entire Southeast
Oh ok I heard someone on channel 2 say that building was pretty much useless nothing really happens there anymore. And like Clark said why did it take so long? I can’t imagine the building suffered so much damage it takes out the whole SE

I read that there building was still used as a main switch room and they had to divert a lot top the backup sites and that is why stuff is down now. Too much traffic overwhelmed or some routes probably aren't there network wise. I am sure this happening on Christmas has also affected the amount of network engineers who are working the issue.

With so many 911 systems down I can’t help but think about some kind of movie type BS..... a big robbery going on somewhere else.... on Christmas when the least number of people would be at the location being robbed.

Interesting theory. Maybe the bomb was supposed to completely disable the ATT network there.
