And the next UT coach will do well after CDD did all the hard work. Pretty simple.

CDD was the AD there too so anyone that says that he didn't fix or create a better situation to hand over is just a fool.

Bullsh**. If he was creating better situations, then why was he a loser there just like he is here?

4-8 the year he left LaTech. Sounds like a better situation to me.

Dykes is a good coach. It's just that simple. DD has/had little to do with it.

Those are Dooley's players.

8 of the 22 starters are Dooley players. All that means is he signed them. He did not coach them much, if at all.

Alot of the players for us are not Dooley players. Bray, James, Waggoner, Rogers, Lathers, Teague, Gordon, and more.

Dooley recruits decent players as his rankings show. He is a middle of the pack kind of recruiter. He just can't coach the players. His record is very clear in showing that.

Also, middle of the pack recruits won't get you to the top of the east. Georgia & Florida still consistently recruit higher than UT and definitely have better coaching. If we don't have better recruits OR better coaches, how can we EVER beat them unless we just get lucky? Oh wait Dooley doesn't get lucky either, he has just about the worst luck. Even outside of football, breaking his damn hip lol

Didn't say he isn't a good coach. But I said he left a better situation there for the new coach to take over and succeed. There is more to winning my friend. You have to have a good foundation first which CDD is bldg then you can have long term success.

See Chisik at Auburn. Success on a weak foundation.

Dooley took over at LaTech following a 3 win season. He left LaTech after a 4 win season. I guess that is progress if you look hard enough.

Dykes is winning 3 years after Dooley left. Derek Dooley has nothing to do with what is going on there today. Much the same way NOTHING going on here at Tennessee today has anything to do with Phil Fulmer.

The trickle down effect of Fulmer isn't still looming???? Ha!!!!! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard.

I repeat CDD went in and created a different program there and left it going in a positive direction. Unless u have proof that the AD that followed him threw away all the stuff he did then we can discuss it further. I do remember being asked by a ton of LSU fans if we could trade him for Miles when I was down there for the game. Im going to go with his reputation when at LATech, amongst people in LA, was pretty good for them to say that to me all day long.

So do we have Shula to thank for Alabama's current dominance? I mean Saban took them to the SEC Championship in year 2, the NC in year 3 and has never had a losing season in all his years of college football.

Dooley is 14-17 in year 3 (4-15 in SEC play). I guess it's all about foundation...

I say we cut ties let his new recruits stay and get a new coach to set a new direction. Latech looks like a legit 11-2 type team.

I wondered who turned that terrible program around? Who turned the 3-10 program into a winning program that won a bowl game?

It is a lot easier and quicker to take a decent team to the next level than it is to take a dumpster fire to just being competitive.
