The Republican Party under Trump should just change its name to the "Thumb in the Eye Party." Antagonism purely for the sake of antagonism.

That’s a good name . The Democratic Party could change theirs to the “ We shoot ourselves in the foot party” .

Elections have consequences.

I'm curious, why is it you think the Dems don't have to live up to the same standards they set for others?

Interesting article here on Remdesivir and its effectiveness in treating C-19. Basically it says that it has minimal benefits over a placebo. Mind you, I don't know what works and what doesn't and I'm rooting for anything and everything to work but I am disgusted in how the press reports this. The effectiveness of this drug has been the lead story on NBC national news at least twice this past week. No such stories were run on HCQ when studies showed promise with that. Nor did NBC mention this study which shows Remdesivir is no silver bullet:

All I want is fairness and balance from the MSM and we ain't gettin' it. This is still another example. If Trump had suggested this drug, the media would be reporting on it in a very negative light.

I agree with you. At some point I found myself on a medical message board and the discussion around remdesivir was that it wasnt showing statistically significant results.

The one study I looked at seemed it was a statistically significant result - but the impacts seemed only marginal. Definitely didn’t seem like a silver bullet.

It did or did not have the control group?

And I will step back, you said that more accurately. It did have statistically significant, but nothing that was really noteworthy.

I would say a study that shows no improvement in saving lives but only shows a decreased recovery time from 17 to 12 to be close to statistically insignificant and certainly not worthy of a lead story on the Evening News

Our Press has one primary concern right now and it's not solving the C19 crisis. It's removing Trump from office. How sad is that?

IIRC there was a control group and the results were statistically significant but it just wasn’t THAT much improvement.

The black panthers were actively threatening to shoot them. A little different.
If I come to your house with guns blazing, do you think I'm coming over for tea and biscuits?

At the very least, I'm wanting to grab your attention and threaten you. But if it comes down to it, bullets will fly.

Black Panthers and these Michigan protesters are in the same boat. Hoping things can go on sensibly without having to use weapons.

Because we are better than you. Smarter. Of better character.

Spoken like the Ivory Tower liberal that you are and this sort of attitude has caused your party to lose elections and support. Personally I hope your party continues to make this mistake.

I know you won't take this advice and I'm glad you won't but here it is:

You ought not think that you know better than the people of America. The people of America disagree with you and don't want you (the gov't) making decisions for them. They want to choose their own doctors, buy their own cars (even if they're gas guzzlers) and decide when and for what reason they can leave the house. They don't need you telling them what to do on the grounds that you're smarter than them.

De Blah is looking for that fed money . I read where he said they are 7+ billion in the hole and won’t be able to join the economic start up if they don’t get help .
They'd better not get it. Don't close down businesses and then wonder why you don't have money to spend on gov't. They can go into debt just like the businesses that they forced to shut down

I’m not saying that it isn’t the goal of some. But I think it’s just reflexive and personal at this point. They get triggered by his unorthodox approach (I do too, often) and sometimes unclear communication and sometimes just blatant inaccuracies. They forget their role as journalists and insert themselves into their reporting far too often.

We’ve all seen similar dynamics in a group of acquaintances. There’s some person that bugs some people but they roll with it. Then someone vocalizes it and suddenly everyone feels emboldened to let all the little things they lived with before now become an issue. And it spirals down from there. The press is a fraternity and they feel affronted and actually believe there is moral high ground and that they hold it. They’re ripping the broader community apart while thinking they’re doing everyone a favor by railing on the guy’s every little thing.
