Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Because you weren’t vital to her Pt care and she’s not on comfort care most likely. We are under visitor restrictions (all area hospitals have been) but there has been people allowed to visit due to circumstances. What floor is she on?
And I understand not coming in there and possibly getting her sick or you healthcare professionals sick but if there's nurses laid off they need to call one back per floor to sit there and update familys each day.
It's tough not being able to sit with someone or see them. Hearing what a doctor or nurse says through a 76 year olds mouth on god knows how much pain medication isn't comforting. We have no idea what is fact with no updates.

Well If you're at UT I can tell you this is absolutely false. Our mom (76) fell last weekend and has been in UT since Monday. We were told do not come here you will not be let in. At some point in the next few days she will be transferred to a rehabilitation center. Same thing, you will not be allowed in here.

And to take it a point farther, nobody is really calling us with updates. My sister calls the nurses station and asks to speak with mom which then a CNA goes in to her room and picks up the phone and hands to her. Out of the last 5 days we have had a call from a nurse to update us only twice.
And the saddest part of all is the number of stories the posters on this site probably have where during a visit, they witnessed or recognized an issue that saved a friend or loved one from misery, not necessarily from medical neglect, but from someone just being there at the right time for an overworked medical staff.

Call and ask for the RN manager and speak to her about it and she can help you. I don’t think they are trying not to call you. It’s a mix of them being busy and short staffed along with since some patients don’t have visitors lettting them communicate with their families directly

I don’t worry about most hospitals because they do a good job but I’d be sick if I had someone in a nursing home because they always suck

The survey asked parents, “Are you more or less likely to enroll your son or daughter in a home school, neighborhood homeschool co-op, or virtual school once the lockdowns are over?”

Of the 626 parents who responded, 40.8 percent said they were “more likely” to do so, while 31.1 percent replied they were “less likely.”

With political party as a factor, 45.7 percent of parents who said they would be “more likely” to homeschool identified as Democrat, while 42.3 percent identified as Republican.

Good. Fewer students in the classes will be a good thing. They had to add teachers after the school year started here locally because they had too many students per class. How they don't know that before the school year starts is beyond me. 2 of my 3 kids had to change teachers a couple weeks into school after we had already done the initial teacher meetings.

Thank you. Call the main desk and ask for this manager or my moms nurses station?

6 deaths out of 194 cases and 3.3M people. Insane that people are still fighting opening up. What a complete and utter #"s padded all around the country pile of steaming BS.

Be careful how you interpret this guy's remarks.

It sounds to me like he's saying if someone had an underlying illness like hypertension, they weren't a "pure" CV death. Which, is perhaps the most conservative definition of a CV death I've ever heard.

That is easy for them to say when registration is 3 months away.

So am I correct that lady is being arrested for not wearing a mask in public? I don't know that I agree with arresting her, but I'm not sure where the constitution says the government cannot require us to wear a mask during a pandemic (assuming you accept the premise a pandemic exists). Is there some kind of implicit constitutional right for a citizen to govern his own private affairs that isn't spelled out? Are you supportive of a "V" type revolution if not?
The problem is these idiots are letting murderers and rapists out and throwing people in jail for standing too close to each other and not wearing masks.

Some of you are slow on the uptake. Besides being the most dense city in the US, NYC...

Coronavirus News: How international travel left NY vulnerable

Did you even read your own article?

It literally stated ONE out of 5 flights from china landed in NYC.

So the other four landed somewhere like Chicago, Atlanta, La, Minnesota and none of those cities that got FOUR out of the 5 have the mass outbreak that the city that got ONE out of 5 has.

Before you call people slow you may wanna check your own propaganda piece there skippy and make sure the numbers match your lies.

The experts say it is more likely COVID in NYC came from people on European flights.

Think that may hurt the DIMs due to lower Union participation?:)

I thought everyone in GA was going to die? Oh I wish I had time to go dig up all those left wing nut jobs taking shots at the Gov of GA

Based on some analysis I've been working on, I'm using a few states to watch impact of mobility very closely. Georgia is one - but because they had fewer infections there is more noise in the data. Michigan is very similar to Georgia in their return to mobility - and because there is a bigger signal there, it is an interesting proxy.

Based on my work, I think we would just now see a rise in deaths that came from their drop in social distancing. If you do not see negative numbers coming over the next week, it is a great piece of data that says opening up is not causing an immediate surge. But, it'll be something I'm watching carefully.

All for it. Less indoctrination is a good thing. I bet this is the first time that many parents actually saw the crap being taught to their kids.

Wow. Lots of angry, white, middle aged Trump supporters clamoring about 'fake news'. How novel. Oh to be a fly on the wall in their mobile homes at night. Betcha there's lots of screaming and fussing keeping all their kin folk up.

BTW, what exactly is the new slogan for ol' dumb Donald this Fall... hard to keep track. Hmm, it was MAGA, then Keep America Great (KAG)... now, what... Forget About Greatness?
Well at least we have our on home and That's better than being a leftist and living in parents basement.

Where's that Racist key?
There will be screams of racism because the white and Asian children will have better teachers
