You brought up seat belts. There is a ton of math that backs them up.

Where is the math on masks? Not talking would reduce the droplets in the air a lot more than a mask, so should we all play the quiet game in public?

Don't get me started on the seat-belts. The US mandates that all cars must be equipped, then mandates that every state must pass a law mandating use or risk losing federal highway funds, then mandates that all vehicles must also be equipped with airbags because people don't use the seat-belts. Would have been much more effective if they had passed a law that said the other driver is not at fault (for you or you survivors) if you're not wearing a seat-belt.

Apparently you missed the pictures and videos of all the people not wearing masks and ignoring social distancing while partying outside restaurants and bars in manhattan this past weekend. It depends on how well it fits. A good fitting one does better than a T-shirt mask, but all help. Combine a mask + six feet distance makes it much more difficult to spread the virus during short-term interaction.

I’m all for you wearing a mask and staying 6 ft from me . Being as I’m kind of antisocial to start with , it would just be safer for you to avoid my non mask wearing self . I believe it works out perfectly for everyone , I don’t have to stop and wait for your slow butts to get out of my way when I need something in the store and you guys don’t have to worry about me giving you the sniffles .

I tried to get a haircut last week and they required one and they didn't offer one either for free or sale so I left. I went home and bought a $35 box of crap from China so I could make my fellow citizens safe and wear a cheap ass mask that won't do a damn thing.
