Yes but isn’t that like all the trials? You all condemn this. Do you condemn or mock the other ones? And they wouldn’t be looking into it if they didn’t think it had potential. So, again, what’s the problem?
I don't think i've seen anyone condemn the trials. The crux was that the drug was being touted as a miracle elixir without anything more than anecdotal stories as evidence of efficacy. Most of the studies (like the VA) either found no evidence of improved outcome or like the French trials, were shut down over safety concerns. Pointing these things out isn't a condemnation at all on the trials.
Good on the NIH for it's trial, that's what qualified medical researchers should be doing.
