Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I went to Costco without wearing a mask last week. I saw a few other people and a black couple with a kid who, lets be honest, should have been in full chem gear. I bought a TV and some groceries. No one said anything to me. Not going to say my general intimidating presence as seen by betas as being a reason but, it probably was.

While I agree if the company is asking that you wear while in their store, then you should. The guy at Cosco was a dumba$$ and was looking for a fight or to play the victim. However, if you are wearing a mask for your protection then why should it matter if someone else is wearing one?

There have been articles from scientific journals posted here saying the mask is not for your protection.

“We don’t want to make even this minimal personal sacrifice to increase consumer peace of mind to get what we want.”

Or how about the medical professionals in this thread offering reasoning to NOT wear a mask, because it likely increases exposure?

After reading their posts today was the first time I went out without a mask.

I wasnt wearing a mask because of fear, nor did I take it off because of the fear. I was doing it because of the logic presented. I know have logical reasons to not wear a mask.

There have been articles from scientific journals posted here saying the mask is not for your protection.

Evidence is conflicting on this. Just like it could live on surfaces for days and infect you days later, the CDC came out last night and said that's not the case. They said it's actually hard to spread the virus from surface contact. But I guess time will tell as they continue research, so far the more we find out the better the news gets.

I went in Lowe’s today, and all their employees had masks. But at the exit doors they had fans blowing air from the direction of the registers towards the back of the store.

I certainly understand my expenditure of disposable income is insignificant to any retail establishment.
That said, I'll try very hard to never give Best Buy another dollar.

I doubt the people posting these videos hollering about their constitutional rights vis a vis a private business, HIPPA, or ADA have any logical basis for refusal.

In fairness, it’s not all Trumpists, but they seem to be the ones posting videos of themselves doing the performative harassment of people who are just doing their job.

Actually no, but you do bring up a good point. That whole episode was due to someone who leaked it and was out to get him. How many of Obama's telephone calls to foreign leaders did we ever hear about? That only became news because of the career insiders who were out to get him.

That’s what has blown my mind with all this. The number of people that feel it is ok to (1) record the President without his knowledge and (2) publicly disclose details of government conversations Is astonishing. It sure is leading to some interesting discoveries though and maybe, just maybe, we are seeing the beginning of the end of our 2-party system as we know it. Don’t get me wrong, we are a ways off from anything really changing but it won’t shock me if this is the start of that change.

We just went to the Verizon store , everyone in the store had a mask on but us , not a word was said . Went to the 7-11 not a single soul in the whole store had a mask on including the three at the counter checking everyone out . It basically boils down to hey do or don’t it’s up to you . I like it .

You are totally missing the point. I'm not defending Bill Clinton, or anyone else who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein, for that matter. Anyone who would be friends with such a person as Jeffrey Epstein, was at the very least, demonstrating very poor judgment of character. All that I'm pointing out, is that Donald Trump was also a friend of Jeffrey Epstein's for a time, and that Donald Trump did refer to Epstein as being "a terrific guy", and Trump did also socialize with Epstein on multiple occasions at Epstein's Manhattan residence. It's fair to be critical of Bill Clinton for this, and it's just as fair to be critical of Donald Trump for this.
