Be wary of current hospitalization statistics vs cumulative total COVID hospitalization. The first is helpful at understanding if capacity is stretched but it is really poor for using as an indicative trend. This is because hospitals can “hotel” patients.

Here’s Texas for example.

Note there aren’t a lot of new COVID patients - they’re just staying longer. Data is a few days old but you could see the trend building.

What’s funny is...... the media is trying to do us like they are doing Arizona.... huge spike in cases/ hospitalizations......that just is simply an over exaggeration.......we are testing more patients so more positives..... we have found out that people are testing positive for at least four months without having a single symptom.... As for hospitalizations..... the media had just received numbers from a few hospitals that had reported to them before..... it wasn’t actually new hospitilizations.... it is almost like they want us in a constant state of fear.

They do. They’re hoping to drag this out through the election but surely even they see this narrative is falling apart.

They keep mentioning Virginia is articles with "surging" cases. We have been below 500 cases per day since Sunday, 3 weeks ago we averaged about 1000 cases a day

That has not been my experience. I've seen conservatives resent the reach of gov't in imposing these shutdowns. I've seen blue Governors shut down more stuff for longer periods of time than red.
