Not to mention this mask requirement is a ruse. An 11-year-old child must be immune but once you turn 12 you can become a carrier. That rule alone shows you how stupid this is. Then you add the places of worship exemption. I do understand trying to be sensitive in places or worship but if this virus is that serious then how can places of worship be allowed to exercise common sense but no other indoor facilities can? There are a lot of studies that show the particles are too small to be stopped by the masks pretty much everyone wears anyway. Finally, how many places do you go that you stand within 6 feet of someone for at least 10 minutes? If the stores are so concerned about that exposure then how about stores like Walmart simply make sure there’s enough checkout people so you don’t have long lines? And if we’re socially distancing in the stores by following the floor markings everyone has now then do we really need masks since we aren’t within 6 feet? The masks make zero sense and I’ll never be convinced otherwise as I don’t see how the totality of my reasoning can be refuted.Where are they going to set this arbitrary number for mask wearing? As we have seen, solid numbers are difficult to nail down during an evolving illness.
Your last sentence would mean we would need to have been wearing masks every winter of our lives.
Mask wearing is a ruse? I'm so glad to know this. Glad to have another infectious disease expert on the boardNot to mention this mask requirement is a ruse. Lets cram a bunch of students in a classroom without masks and lets see what happens
I'm betting you a shiny new dime we'll have some new outbreaks if we are stupid enough to do just this
The closest we have to an expert on this is @kiddiedoc. I don't think he is an epidemiologist but he can direct you on pediatric susceptibility...if you're genuinely interested.Lets cram a bunch of students in a classroom without masks and lets see what happens
