Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

So what about the people who are renting the properties to these tenants? Are they SOL? What if they will lose these homes to banks because they won’t be able to pay the mortgages? Or apartment complexes not able to their loans? It’s pretty short sighted to do what you say. So no thank you. You will add millions more major problems due to a potential banking collapse. You can’t just say ok no nobody pays anything. Someone will get left holding the bag. That will lead to further job loss and economic destruction. As far as your $5k a month you are drunk. So every married family is getting $120,000 a year. Yea screw it. Why don’t we just do that forever?
I think your sarcasm meter got brokeded.

His tongue was in cheeks.

A little freaky if you ask me but who am I to judge.

You are correct the $5k a month should have triggered it. Sorry. It’s like the 3rd time in the last week I have heard someone say we’ll just stop making people pay rent. It makes my head hurt.
I worked with any of my 5 tenants who needed it. My bank deferred my mortgage payments for 3 months. My wiggle room as a landlord is depleted.

Stressful for sure. One my peers owns and rents out 12 homes in Knoxville. He is close to freak out level. I advised him to sell them when he can while the housing market is still standing. But that will mean a lengthy eviction process.

That is a really tough spot to be in. Judges are not to keen on tossing someone out when circumstances are bad. And pandemic is unprecedented. No investor will buy with bad tenants in unless at a steep discount. How long has your peer been landlording?

He’s my old boss too. So 18 years. His property has expanded over time. I am not sure how many of his renters are defaulting right now. He didn’t share that with me. I know he’s not in a great cash position. He has always dropped it all in real estate.

The problem is it's a circle of ****. It's **** the tenant can't work. It's **** the landlord paying the taxes and note can't collect. It's **** the bank can't get the cash in the door to leverage and loan out to the next business to create jobs for tenants to pay rent. But the average person in this country is so completely braindead they think every landlord is Uncle Moneybags and every bank has a trillion dollars so they'll be fine. But if every renter has that mentality every landlord and bank exposed to this are screwed.

Btw the strategy of more government money is the most **** solution of all.

I’m thinking about kicking my kids and brother out of my homes . Not because of rent , I just don’t like them anymore . I think they need to learn how to live off the land anyway . 😂

In a way, this crisis has shown how incredibly interconnected we all are and how we all need each other for our society to function optimally.

It should be showing people that. Instead I fear it's highlighting pain points that activist movements will pick up as yet another aspect of life that should be "free".

So let's hear from some, instead of quoting Facebook posts from you neighbor's, brother-in-law's, dentist's cousin.

Let's see some real live faked death certificates to confirm the grand conspiracy involving the 3,000+ health departments in the United States.
It’s not a “grand conspiracy” but there are several discrepancies among both covid deaths and positive tests, especially from March thru June

I can’t get over allvol123 statement that there are fewer national deaths of all causes in last few months Compared to previous timeframes

In my area the judges are sticking to the law and as long as there is a legitimate breach and the property isn't covered by the CARES Act, they're out.

I agree. I also hope, even though it’s probably way too late, that people understand why deficits are a terrible approach. This is the exact time a government like ours should be able to spend trillions to bail out the citizens and business. If we had zero debt, what we have spent, would be nothing. Then when we get out of it go back to being responsible. Instead we have screwed ourselves for no real need or reason

My eyes kind of cross when I see tweets along the lines of "we are the richest country in the world, why can't we XYZ". There are people among us that would rack up $10-12T in debt this year alone and not bat an eye.

If I tried to kick my kids out my wife would be kicking me back to warehouse quarantine for another month or two.
