You can tell how much the world has changed just by following baseball.... I follow this baseball page and just a couple of stories that have come across:
In the 1930’s a pitcher got struck by lightning and knocked him out..... they woke him up and he finished pitching the game
In 1977 the Yankees and royals were playing.... Brett slid into nettles at third..... nettles pushed/ hit Brett somehow.... Brett got up and punched nettles square in the jaw starting a brawl..... not a single guy was thrown out or suspended...
Fast forward to today and a gm is thrown out for arguing balls and strikes
Ok. This makes it more understandable. Sorta like our cultural belief that "thoughts and prayers" ward off gun violence.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally linked to more than 260,000 coronavirus cases, economists estimateAre 40k bikers even worth 12.2 billion to the economy? That's a ton of freaking rich bikers.
The Sturgis rally garnered national attention as being one of the largest events held in the U.S. amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. So far, only one death has been linked to the event.
Also that is still 45k+ per person. How fricking rich are these people where being sick for a while and not able to work while under quarantine for 3 weeks equals 45k of losses per?
@hog88 how much actual revenue would you expect to lose from an employee being out for 3 weeks? Ball park it, and assume they are mid level? Also that is still 45k+ per person. And that's assuming each one of them actually is symptomatic, which we know they wont be, and cant work from home, which we know isnt 100% of those people.
