Also that is still 45k+ per person. How fricking rich are these people where being sick for a while and not able to work while under quarantine for 3 weeks equals 45k of losses per?

And that's assuming each one of them actually is symptomatic, which we know they wont be, and cant work from home, which we know isnt 100% of those people.

This paper is using a model that values a life at $11M. I don't know why they're saying this cost X amount of dollars because to me this is apples and oranges. For instance an asymptomatic person with no effects whatsoever is stated to "cost" $11k. Why? I can't even imagine the R value from whatever percentage of Sturgis attendees were covid positive for them to created 266k additional cases in a matter of weeks.

But seriously, it took a night in the hospital thinking I had a heart attack at 41yo to change my way of life. A day later my doctor told me I was morbidly obese and if I wanted to see my boys grow up I needed to get up and stop choosing to be fat. It's not easy but it appears it's necessary to get thru this crap.
